I just found it by looking up Moby Dick on Wikipedia (because seriously, how many other stories are there featuring an albino killer whale) and starting to look through the various adaptations of it. Only two were animated, and that one seemed more... plausible, somehow.

Someone else can go by the way; I'm no good at this sorta thing.

The big whale is Moby Dick, but he is more like a side character that the young white whale looks to for inspiration (although he is rather disappointed when he actually finds MD, as MD is now old and lazy(and possibly dying;, like 90% of the characters of the movie)).
