I saw Scott Manley's first look at this, and it looks really cool, so I'll probably pick it up at some point.

What's the gameplay to sandbox ratio like? Are there any specific goals to follow, or is it all about doing your own thing?

it's really close to being minecraft in space. a bit buggy, but it's free

right now its very much just about building cool space ships. Much like minecraft it will need multiplayer to have that lasting appeal.

The LRR_Loader. It currently has 2 cannon as well as 20(ish) support turret.
it also has a hangar section with six launch bays and space for at least twelve medium fighters. Finally it has Drone mounts with capacity for 40 drones.

The glass dome once finished will contain a biodome.
I would post mass and block stats but they are pretty much meaningless at this stage.

So what happened was that I neglected to build a hangar for my ship so pirates attacked me. Turns out I didnt properly activate my turrets and was shot dead trying fix it. Ship was lost and so was several hours of building. Sad faces all around.
