Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I can't help feeling I've been backed into a corner where Duckay's the only person I can vote for if I want even a chance to save myself from being lynched. I'm gonna be pissed off if she's Town.
Still, in the last game I tried to put off voting until the last minute and missed every single vote, so I guess I have to keep my vote out there if I want a chance of surviving.
Unless anyone wants to lynch Gunner for lurking like a lurker who's just picked up his degree in lurking from the Lurkhampton College of Advanced Lurkonomics? Apart from that all my suspicions are based on who's allied themselves with or against whom, so I can't make any further guesses until someone's alignment is revealed.

I'm still not entirely convinced that either is evil. But if it has to be a choice between the two, I'm more paranoid about Duckay than Thrash

In that case:
Vote: ThrashJazzAssassin
I'm far more wary of him than of Duckay at this point. So if we're going to pick one, I'd rather get rid of him.

For once, you don't seem to be under suspicion, Jack.
Anyway, because of... reasons, which are totally not completely arbitrary, and how dare you accuse me of such, I'm going with

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I wasn't going to say anything unless I had to, but it seems that time has come.
I can verify that Thrash is a townie. I know this because there are three of us who are essentially Masons. I am one and Thrash is one. I'll reveal the other if I need to.
If you lynch Thrash now we'll be losing another townie and putting us even more in a hole. In fact, I'll bet there are so mafia amongst those voting for Thrash.
People who lynched a townie on Day 1:elvor, Duckay, Memo, aeric, jamfalcon, JackSlack, Volafortis
People who are about to lynch a townie on Day 2: Jamfalcon, Duckay, Hephastus, Volafortis, Master Gunner and Jack
Duckay, Volafortis and Jamfalcon are on both lists. If you ask me, one or all of them is mafia.

I'll admit, I'm not voting with a lot of evidence to work with here, but I'm only trying to save my fellow townsfolk. Can you give us any more information about what you, Thrash, and this third person's goals are? Because to my ears, a secretive group sounds exactly like the sort of thing we're trying to eliminate.

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
But what I'm curious about is if you can shed any light on what your being a group means, and how you're different than a regular townie. You're probably painting a target on Thrash's back (assuming he doesn't deny your claims, which seems unlikely) for the night-time killers by revealing this information to protect him now, so I'm just wondering what makes it worth the considerable risk.
Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I'm trying to stop someone who I know is innocent from being lynched. Would you have done differently?

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I phrased that poorly; what I'm trying to say is that you're likely only delaying Thrash's death until night-time, so he clearly must have some power that will be of use one more time. An investigator wouldn't have time to share their findings with you, so it makes sense to me that he's got some sort of ability that has an effect overnight. The question then becomes, can we trust your word that it's a town-aligned ability.
I'm not going to change my vote just on this word without hearing what others have to say, although if Thrash is revealed to be on our side posthumously, I'll be willing to consider your innocence proven (assuming he confirms your story).

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
Here's the issue, if you are a group of Masons, you certainly wouldn't reveal this information this early if you are townsfolk aligned. I'm assuming that that has gameplay implications, potentially (and honestly, probably) beyond the three of you simply having knowledge of each other.
You hiding the third simply makes it more suspicious, because that makes me think that that person HAS some sort of game ability, and you could probably figure out who it is by looking how the conversation has gone. In fact, reading the thread so far makes it seem the JackSlack is probably the third, and the one with a night ability, possibly the killer.

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
(All of this presumes Tapir is telling the truth)
This may make him a target, but it's still a good move. It might reduce the chance of Tapir and him surviving, but it increase the chances of the town winning in the long run. The mafia are forced to target him, or he hangs around as a known townie for another day, increasing the odds of lynching a mafia member. It also means we have a better chance of lymching a mafia member today. These benefits exist even if he doesn't have another ability.
For what it's worth, I believe him.

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
For what it's worth, I believe Tapir is telling at least some form of truth, because it's an odd lie to make, claiming something like that.
I mean, we all know that this is a totally normal and not odd at all game of mafia, and that seems like a strangely specific and not normal thing to claim. being Masons and all that.
Actually, we may want to wait before putting the nail in the coffin on anybody now. This adds an entirely new dynamic to the decision, and needs to be considered by everybody, I think.

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I am inclined to believe Tapir. Preventing the death of a known townie is a good move this early on, and hiding the identity of the third member prevents making them a target for a night kill. Masons generally don't have any abilities other than to talk to each other at night, but in this game, who knows?
Still not sure who the best target here is now. Duckay seems the obvious choice, but that could just be bad luck on her part for targeting innocents accidentally.

Re: BASTARD mafia Day Two
I can confirm everything Tapir has said.
Nope. Actually, since we have no other powers, we almost revealed our roles straight away just to narrow down the number of suspects. Presumably you guys would've wanted to lynch one of us to make certain, but that would've left two known vanilla townies to cross off the list. In the end I persuaded Tapir to leave it a while before roleclaiming to see if we could use our alliance to the town's advantage.

I tentatively want to believe you, but I'm not completely convinced. On the one hand, it seems like a very specific lie to tell. On the other, we have no way to verify.
