Star Trek Mafia - Day 2 Gamma Shift
The year is 2372. The Federation has begun the Dominion War, and knows that changelings have infiltrated Starfleet Command. You, however, are not at Starfleet Command. You are at a research outpost. It has been determined that the information that you are researching is vital to the war efforts. It has also been determined by the ranking Admiral that changelings have infiltrated the outpost, so a lock-down has been initiated. No one in, and no one out. It doesn't matter if you were assigned there or were just passing through. The Federation Council has approved the lock-down, so civilians cannot leave, either. Mandatory blood tests on all suspicious parties have been initiated to determine if anyone is a changeling.
Alpha Shift begins now.
Jamfalcon - Bajoran Lieutenant Commander
Hepheastus - Human Lieutenant
Master Gunner - Antican Ensign
Dutch guy - Human Lieutenant
korvys - Saurian Ensign - Assassinated, Gamma Shift 2
Preacher - Changeling - Escaped, Beta Shift 2
Duckay - Caitian Lieutenant Commander
Tapir12 - Benzite Lieutenant Commander
JackSlack - Grazerite Lieutenant
Genghis Ares - Denobulan Civilian
iamafish - Tellarite Commander - Missing, presumed vaporized, Gamma Shift 1
ThrashJazzAssassin - Hekaran Ambassador
Ptangmatik - Tal Shiar Spy - Assassinated, Gamma Shift 1
Aeric90 - Andorian Commander
elvor - Trill Lieutenant Commander
(For gameplay purposes, Alpha Shift = Day, Beta Shift = Arrest (the term for Lynch in this game), and Gamma Shift = Night. During Beta Shift, a blood test is taken of the arrested party to determine if they are a changeling. If they are not, they are moved to the brig to await trial for suspicious behavior. If they are a changeling, Security will attempt to incinerate them with their phasers.)
I will not impose time limits unless it starts to drag on.
Edit: For clarification, you vote for the Arrest during the Alpha Shift, and if a consensus is reached, Beta Shift and the actual Arrest starts.

Changlings, huh? Let's get this over with and deal with them before they can interfere with our work any more. Anyone seen anything unusual recently?

I have no suspicious sightings to report. I agree we must deal with this issue swiftly and decisively.

I would prefer assignment to communications or medical facilities, if possible. A frontline position feels... unwelcome.

Ah crap, I'm a human civilian, also known as Redshirt Number 5, Cannon Fodder Extra Number 12, That Poor Fool and listed in the registry as "Expendable Casualties." So if anyone needs me I'll be cowering under my bed awaiting assassination/warp core breech/meteor strike/the Freaking Jem'Hadar/Ice Shark to kill me

Well Commander, it seems that you and Aeric on the ranking officers in this outpost. I'd recommend we take any measures possible to protect the civilians and the ambassador, but they would also be the first place I would suggest looking for changelings. Much easier to infiltrate us that way than impersonating a member of Starfleet.

How can you be both a civilian and a Redshirt? If you're wearing the yellow uniform, you're either a Starfleet officer, or impersonating one (which is a serious crime). Explain yourself!
(For those who do not watch Trek: The term "redshirt" for the disposable extra who dies at the end of Act 1 is derived from the security officers of the TOS era who wore red division uniforms. However by the TNG/DS9 era, security officers had switched to yellow uniforms, and Command wore red instead).

Hey everyone, I'm a civilian botanist here at the outpost. It's a bit solitary in my botany lab, so I think I'd rather stay out here with you Starfleet personnel.

Lieutenant Commander Duckay here. I suggest we begin by interviewing each person one by one about their role here and teasing out any inconsistencies.

I'm not wearing a uniform, I'm just wearing a red shirt, and honestly in all episode of any Star Trek, how long does the human civilian survive? I mean at least the alien civilan's survive longer because the producers want to get some wear time out of the make up. The human? Nope, killed off first.

I suppose I haven't introduced myself, have I? Lieutenant Commander Jamfalcon, Security Officer. I'll do what I can to protect you folks, and see to it that these impostors are properly dealt with. If everyone can keep this process calm and orderly, I'm sure we can all make it out unscathed.
And to any changelings present, I assure you, try to take me out and you'll find my phaser more than ready for you.
I like the way you think.

Actually, to the best I can recall, civilians would typically survive until the climax of the episode (unless their death is what precipitates the plot). Typically only because civilians would only be present if they were significant to the plot.
Of course, their death toll does rise significantly over the course of DS9 (if mostly Bajoran), so I guess it's a wash.

Re: Star Trek Mafia - Day 1 Alpha Shift
Lieutenant Hepheastus here, Science office. Commanders iamafish and Aeric90, I recommend installing a trans-quantum polarity field at key intersections across the station. If we set it to a multi-phasic frequency it may cause the changelings to loose polymorphic control temporarily.
EDIT: Anyone who has no idea what I'm saying please watch this video (Warning: Adult language) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bBD5yyT-s0

I find this detention highly inconvenient. As the ambassador I have no official capacity at this outpost, but ask any task of me and I will be happy to immediately oblige.

We're very sorry for this Ambassador but you must be able to respect the logic in the decision.

I understand the necessity, it is a shame that this event should happen during this ambassadorial visit.

Re: Star Trek Mafia - Day 1 Alpha Shift
Figures I get the Starfeet equivalent of a United Colors of Benetton advert as an assignment. And on top of that I have to deal with a VULCAN ambassador. *grumbles* As long as the civilians cooperate with our investigation when required then we should be fine though.
Lieutenant Hepheastus, work with the engineering to build the field emitters. Everyone else report any suspicious activity to Commander iamafish and me immediately. Lets find the culprit as soon as possible and get our mission back on track.
