[Yeah, I think we generally have to end up halting mafia during DB. At least this time it's not right in the middle of a game, so it should pick up again okay afterwards.]

I recall a desert and a distinct feeling to move to the left. I don't know why.

Sorry guys, the holodeck was malfunctioning again. I've ... shut it down. As it were.

I'll get it fixed soon...

Quite the most tiresome holodeck simulation I've ever encountered. I can't imagine who programmed it... Except maybe a native of Penantela. I spent several months there as a junior attaché; a desert world, frightfully dull place. The children seemed to appreciate it, though.

[GM Note: Since we've gone 3 pages with next to no movement, if there's no significant change by Monday evening EST, Beta Shift will begin on Tuesday with no arrest.]

I found it restful.

Are we really going to go to Beta shift without making any arrests?

I don't think that's wise. I would recommend that if no other target is made clear to us, we arrest one of the civilians, either Preacher or Genghis Ares. As I mentioned, those who do not need to fake having completed Starfleet training are more likely suspects.

I do see your logic, though I don't feel as though we have any reason to suspect Preacher or Genghis Ares specifically of wrong-doing, so...

I am for the idea of pushing for an arrest, but I am not entirely at peace with it.

I certainly wouldn't wish harm upon either Preacher or Genghis Ares, but I'll back either play. Anyone else want to say anything?

I should be clear, I hold no ill will against them, but it seems prudent to remove the most probable threats first, and if we make a mistake, they are least likely to be of aid to us in the days to come.

See, the civilian dies first. While it holds absolutely no sway, I am just going to say, I'm innocent, I seem to have drawn the short straw of being a bog standard human here. I don't even have the honor of calling myself Redshirt, I'm just extra number 5

Lets all log into our online banking. Anyone who doesn't know their password or the answer to their secret question is probably a changeling.

What's that? Online banking became irrelevant hundreds of years ago? Well shoot.

I don't really have any ideas to offer at this point. Arresting someone would give us more info, but if we decide to wait a day I'm fine with that as well. As a starfleet officer, I feel hesitant to accuse someone without any evidence.

I hesitantly suggest that I think that unless Genghis Ares speaks up, he is a good target? After all, we don't have much on anyone, so why not go for someone who has been quiet?

I'm kind of on the inverse. If Preacher was quick to defend himself, this perhaps speaks to a guilty conscience.

But let's all be honest: At this point, we all have but paranoia.

Hmm isn't targeting the civilians a bit too obvious though.

Hey, guys, I heard you were talking about me. I understand the suspicion, but I think it may be a tad paranoiac. I know I haven't come out of my lab since the initial lockdown, but everyone seemed to have scattered about since then as well. I just want to say that these shape-shifters could be anybody. And I would assume they would take the place of someone of more importance to the station than a botanist. Do we know what they're after?

On the other hand, a botanist might be a good cover as nobody wants to get close to them to notice any abnormal behaviour.

Possible alternative: who hasn't checked in since the boring holodeck simulation of a desert?

Technically, I would count as a civilian too, being a diplomat with no starfleet training, but arresting me could cause an interplanetary diplomatic incident. Aren't the members of starfleet supposed to defend the civilians with their lives?

Right now, logic dictates that as we have no actual evidence to draw on one way or another, voting to arrest anyone would be a rash, arbitrary decision. Therefore there is only one logical course of action.

Vote: No Arrest

Ignoring the fact that it doesn't involve my own death. Given the lack of evidence, waiting seems prudent
