Lesseee, how quickly can I uninstall GeForce exp, then re-install TF2, and get over to that server? it's only been an hour-and-a-half...

I had to uninstall GeForce Exp and then restart my PC because trace files of it were still active. Then I did a few test launches. 100% every time!

Hit me up with a message on Steam when you're ready! I was just guinea pigging my computer.

So currently if you kill an engineer his entire set up is destroyed. If I backstab an engineer, I do not need to touch his sentry. It WILL blow up. This is because it tries to load the old load out and it can't so resets your weapons. Which, as you know, destroys your gear.

So if you're playing engineer, have a stock load out ready for it and see if my theory works.

It also managed to bypass the vanilla settings so I have it on that server too! But thanks to you letting me know how catastrophic it was, I now always go for the dispenser first. Keeps them alive long enough to cry!

Now this is going to be fun.

Uninstalled game. Deleted TF2 folder. Reinstalled.
Uninstalled GFE. Done a clean install of graphics card drivers.
TF2 still closes once launched.

This is driving me crazy.

And then I finally cracked it. XFire. My TF2 would not launch with XFire open. THAT is why it launched after a reboot. Because I have to TELL XFire to open! And then I remember a DECADE ago XFire gave me problems with something else! So I went on a hunch!

Opened XFire. Opened TF2. Crash. Closed XFire. Opened TF2. Runs fine.
Opened TF2, opened XFire, game eventually crashed.

So I have found, at last, the problem. Which is strange because I've been using XFire a hell of a long time and not had that problem in the LONGEST time!

Found out I had apparently deleted TF2 some time ago... Downloading now, but Steam isn't giving me more than 300 kb/s download. For a freaking 7 gig game....
