Harry Potter Mafia: SIGNUP CLOSED
Hey guys, so our concept today is pretty straightforward: Voldemort has risen to power. There are some who have followed his ideals in a bid for power, but more terrifying are those who have been brought in by force, maybe even your loved ones, who have been brainwashed into his service under the Imperius curse. There is no way of knowing who to trust, but you as the general community must root them out and ensure they cannot harm anyone else.
(Or in other words, the "town" will win when all the "mafia" have been arrested or killed. The "mafia" wins once they have killed or outnumber the town.)
The game can be more or less role play focused depending on people's preferences. Who's in?

I've been wanting to get in on Mafia for a while now! There might be stretches where I won't be able to reply due to work, but otherwise I'm good to go.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Sure, why not? I'm in. The Order of the Pheonix was on TV today, so I'm in a bit of a Harry Potter mood.

I'd like to play, though I don't know anything about Harry Potter.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Signup Thread
So, apparently, from discussion on the last Mafia thread, I might not be the right person to play Mafia, so I might end up having to be kicked out of this one.

And Memo, if I haven't been kicked out of a mafia game, your not. And I once suggested using a random number generator to decide on who to lynch

I'll go back to lurking for this one, my knowledge of HP is limited to half of the first book and internet memes. Also writing english is hard enough for me, let alone roleplaying.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Signup Thread
Not sure if I should play this. I'd probably spend too much time Role Playing and not enough time Mafia-ing.

I meant "It's only a show and I should relax", but I guess at least JackSlack's works too.

Okay, I'll try it again. Hopefully this time I'll figure out how to play the game.

9 will probably be sufficient but I'd love a few more. Can we get, say, 3 more takers?

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Signup Thread
Alright, I'm dropping out of this one, since it's become somewhat apparent that I am not a good Mafia player, and I have this game all wrong.
I don't know what changed between Games 2 and 3. I liked Games 1 and 2, but Games 3 and 4 weren't as fun. But I can't point out where the differences lie between them, specifically, and that's aggravating.
That's the problem... I was enjoying it, for a while. However, it seems that I was "enjoying it wrong" or something, since the long-run of several games started to get more and more frustrating, as I didn't understand why certain things were happening.romangoro wrote:Memo, if you enjoy playing, keep doing it.

My memory is terrible. How strict were the time limits in those games? Keeping things moving might make them a bit better. Even if someone goes out early, a fixed time means the next game would be up sooner, and the current game would probably be more exciting to spectate.

AdmiralMemo, I respect you enough to take you at your word that you want to drop out. If you happen to change your mind before we fire (say 24 hours from now), I'll put you back in.
Also sorry korvys, I forgot to add your name to the list at first.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Signup Thread
Thanks. I want to spectate this one and analyze it from the outside. I need data to figure out a theory. Also, having not read Harry Potter, nor watched the movies, I'm not familiar enough with the source material to role-play well.
