All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good wizards go to the pub, and have entirely too much butterbeer, and be under the weather the next morning.

They can take our lives, but they will never take our butterbeer! Or our mead. Mmm, mead.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

It's obvious in this setting that we go back to everything is normal and there is no danger after there has been 15 minutes of no danger.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Two
I believe handing no one over is a poor choice, if there is evil, we will lose another day over them. I cannot explain why there were no deaths, although I have a paranoid hunch of a hunch, but we must act today.
Do you guys mind. I'm trying to write an essay

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Two
Glad to see folks are starting to come around, hopefully we won't make the same mistake as yesterday. Now, we still haven't heard a peep from Lysander. I hold no ill will against him, but if no better target presents itself, I say we start with the person contributing the least.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Two
Alright. Let's look at this reasonably, shall we?
Causes for Suspicion:
Korvys: First statement somewhat parenthetical.
Jamfalcon: Regards dark wizards as 'one of these again'.
JackSlack: There is no reason whatsoever to suspect him, or his cat familiar 'The Commodore' of anything untoward.
Prospero101: Possible commie preversion.
Phailhammer: Knows a little too much about that four-broom pile-up over Diagon Alley.
Tapir12: The first eleven Tapirs were all dark wizards, weren't they?
Preacher: Claims to be a Preacher.
Aeric90: Wand suspiciously twiglike.
Lysander: Completely mute.
ArchieO: Mostly mute.
Hephaestus: Confusingly voweled.
Well, I'm out of ideas.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Two
I would like to point out that I don't merely claim to be a Preacher. I actually have a certificate of ordination and that should I ever visit the US I am technically allowed to officiate a ceremony.
This is provided I don't get murdered before going there, which seems likely at this point. But at this stage, given Lysander's muteness, perhaps we should see if the Auror's can get him talking

Oh, come on, there were dozens of people around when that happened. Are you going to suspect all of them as well?
On a more serious note, I agree with the suspicions regarding Lysander. I have a few theories for the lack of arrests yesterday myself.

So I count 3 votes for Lysander. 6 are required for the Auror office to take action.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Two
That is 6 votes for Lysander, and hence a majority.
The mute Lysander is handed over to the aurors. After some deliberation they conclude that he is probably an innocent wizard with no dark wizard affiliations. However, he still cannot be released. For reasons. Do not question the Ministry.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Night Two
Dawn is breaking, and the wizarding world is abuzz with news. However, no one was found to have died in the night.
Day three is beginning now and will last at maximum 6 days. Six votes are required for a consensus.

Apparently I received an owl to that effect, but to be fair, Ministry communicade. Very unreliable.

Re: Harry Potter Mafia: Day Three
But what does it mean if they are using imperius? Are they biding their time?

Biding their time until we're all imperiused.
This is, to put it bluntly, problematic. I doubt my potions have anything that can deal with such a malady.

Here's my theory: if we can't fight the curse, we should make ourselves so bloody useless that there's no point in cursing us.

Aye, that makes sense. It's even more troubling, if their numbers keep growing, we're going to have a hard time catching up. Bet you're all real pleased we gave them a free pass on the first day now, huh? We need to resolve this issue. Has anyone noticed a sudden shift in behaviour, a change in direction from someone else?
