Drawception is essentially an online version of telephone pictionary: someone draws a picture or posts a caption, then the next person either captions the picture or draws their interpretation of the previous caption.
I've been getting back into it a bit lately and I realized: I don't know if there are other runners who play or have played in the past! Of course, I am not much of an artist, but it is still a lot of fun to play. If enough of us are members, maybe we can do some in-jokey friends games?

Re: Drawception
Seems interesting, although my art skills with a mouse leave much to be desired. If only this were pen and paper.
I'm on as Antitonic, because synergy.

Re: Drawception
I haven't played it in years, but it was a lot of fun back when I did. We actually had a thread waaaay back.
Here's my account. I should play again sometime soon... wonder if my art or humour skills have improved in the last two years... there are definitely a good number I can see that I would have gone about differently now.

Ah, I tried to find an old thread for it and somehow missed it. Perhaps I underestimated how old.

I think I was the one who started the old thread, like 3 years ago?

Since you were all talking about it I signed up:

I have a drawing tablet so I'm sort of okay, but I also keep trying to use Photoshop hot keys out of habit.

Re: Drawception
I have a drawing tablet which I don't use since I find the disconnect between the surface I draw on and the monitor on which is appears really distracting.
I need someone to actively encourage me to keep trying.

Re: Drawception
What's y'all attitude towards looking things up? Like I got one that was "Shiny man that looks like Timmy Turner dances" but I don't know who is Timmy Turner.
Also my own rule is I don't allow myself to write out any words in the description. Like I got "Commercial for Spinach Toast Crunch" and I didn't let myself write the name on the box. But I did write "Part of this complete breakfast" because those weren't words in the description. But that might just be my invented rule.

Re: Drawception
I draw what is written if I can, and don't look it up.
If I HAVE to look it up to draw anything I skip.
I try to throw games off the rails, by interpreting things imaginatively.
The best games go in strange directions. It's really boring when you have 12 panels of SAME. Yeah, pretty pictures, but it's boring. If I want good art, I'd go on DeviantArt.

Yeah, you don't want to contradict the description but you don't want to just do the obvious thing that everyone will do.
That's also why I try not to write any words that were in the description, because if the person describing mine sees the same words, it doesn't have the same chance to mutate. Like with the spinach toast crunch, if I had put the name on the box, they would have known it was spinach, as it was, they thought it was mold.

Well, this one stayed as Indiana Pooh all the way through but that's entertaining enough that I'm okay with that:
