Re: Mafia Queue
Thinking about logistics, instead of "everyone put your heads down and close your eyes" it would be "everyone minimize your windows" ... "okay, mafia, type your targets to me" ... "okay, mafia minimize your windows" ... "okay, angel, type who you'll save" ... etc.
Re: Mafia Queue
I think everyone would still be able to see the chat afterwards. If everyone is online anyways, you could get them to still send you their targets in a PM. That way it would be secure. You could get everyone to mute their mics so nobody can hear the typing.

Re: Mafia Queue
Yeah, you'd have to use an external chat program, and have everybody "mute video" so you can see that no one can see anything.

Is mafia currently played much around here? If so how can I get in on that? I love the game to pieces, not too great at it but I've not played for that long.

Re: Mafia Queue
there has been a time when we would be running a mafia game pretty much at any time. The last one ended due to lack of interest (a single day lasted over 2 weeks).

I have no problem with that. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Re: Mafia Queue
OK, sweet. I'll run it after Octo's game is finished then. I'm going to hope for 16-20 players. That's one more than in Octo's, but I like to hope we can do it.

Re: Mafia Queue
Quick question: Is there any point to having a theme or world for the Mafia? The current one started with some story but now it just appears to be people examining posts and trying to analyse based on what was said, unsaid or edited.
I tried to play a character as a fun loving out going person who liked to organise events (Pinkie Pie style) and the barn dance idea got taken up very quickly and became a part of the story, but now it just seems like there's no story or character anymore.
Am I playing it wrong?

Re: Mafia Queue
The theme can influence the roles that are sent out, or have some impact on the rules of the game (at least, when I'm in charge). Otherwise, it's a way of filling the time and keeping some activity going when there's not a lot of information to go around, especially in the early stages.

Re: Mafia Queue
Since Octo's Vanilla Mafia is winding down (it's either the last day or the second last day, either way) but not yet finished, would it be poor form to put up the World of Darkness Mafia sign up now?

Re: Mafia Queue
Considering how long it took to get players for Octo's (and we ended up starting with one less than he wanted), I think that putting it up now would be a very good idea.

Re: Mafia Queue
I just posted this in the World of Darkness mafia thread, but I realized it'll get a little more attention to post it here.
I had an idea for a more or less traditional mafia game with an interesting twist (because I don't want it to be perfectly straight-forward, but another dramatic game like JackSlack's will probably fall flat). I'll post the sign-up later today or within the next couple of days, if people think that sounds like a good idea. What do you think?
