Re: Mafia Queue
So...Is it fair to say that Memo's game is pretty much dead? If so should we move down the list to who's next?

Oh wow... Sorry guys. Totally forgot. I will get this back running first thing tomorrow, if y'all want to continue. I'll correlate what actions I have and find out who never sent me actions and just say they did nothing.

Looks like. At this point, even if we moved onto the next step, I doubt anyone really remembers what's going on and who's said what.

Re: Mafia Queue
I totally apologize. I forgot it existed again. I am a terrible person at this. I'd like to start it over at some point in the future, when my life is not officially trying to kill me with pressure. When I signed up, it was at a much better and easier point in my life.
Life: Y U DO ALL THE THINGS AT ONCE?
Is it possible to put me back on the list at the end to restart this?

It's alright, you've had a lot on your plate recently. Do you want to go back onto the end of the queue?
And I guess that means you're up, Kapol.

Re: Mafia Queue
So how do we feel about another Mafia game? I'm keen, but there isn't a lot of interest maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to take a break. Or should we leave this up to Kapol?

Re: Mafia Queue
I'm fine with starting another Mafia game sooner rather than later. I might need til the weekend to come up with details and start the sign-up due to school, but I should be able to post sign-ups within a week.

Sorry for the wait. I'm working on figuring out some details. I'll post a sign-up thread Saturday or Sunday (US time).

Re: Mafia Queue
So I have two ideas ready, but I'd like to know if people would prefer a more... 'roleplay'-like one as my first was, or a more standard game. If desires, I can describe the two ideas.

I like the idea of a roleplay game but otherwise have no preference.

Re: Mafia Queue
If it helps you, Kapol, my idea after yours is arguably THE most vanilla game idea I've ever had. So there's that.

Alright, I suppose I'll go with the more RP-y idea. I'll get a sign-up sometime today, if I can find time to. If not, tomorrow.

I'm working on the sign-up now. But due to the time, I'm going to put it off for a bit in favor of sleeping. If it's not done by midnight tonight for me, I'm just going to pass the turn. I've gotten busy lately and I worry that it'll suffer for it.

Re: Mafia Queue
So I was watching the show Table Flip, and they did an episode of 'One Night Ultimate Werewolf.' It seems like it could be an interesting, quick little variant to try whenever people want to. I'm thinking of having a 5/7-day limit for posting (to make up for time zones and being busy while sticking to the time limit idea), one person runs everything, and votes are done via PM and then shared all at once.
EDIT: Realized I should likely explain the rules. So here they are:
As I said, this is just a little side idea more than anything. Could be fun.
EDIT: Realized I should likely explain the rules. So here they are:
Basically, One Night Ultimate Werewolf is a mafia variant where the game starts at 'night.' Before the start, everyone finds out their roles. The game is for up to 10 people, with 12 total roles. The extra roles are placed face-down in the center of the table. Then, everyone does their action during the night like they would a mafia game, but in a specific order:
-First, the two werewolves open their eyes and find out who the other is (if there are two, as there can be only one or even none due to the extra cards). they then close their eyes. The werewolves lose if either werewolf is killed.
-Second, the 'Minion' opens his or her eyes. He or she is werewolf-aligned, and acts as a decoy for the wolves. So he or she wins even if killed, as long as both werewolves survive. The werewolves hold their thumbs out so the Minion knows who the werewolves are, but the werewolves don't know who the Minion is. Then they close their eyes.
All roles after the minion are town aligned and win by killing a werewolf.
-Third, the two Masons open their eyes and look at each other. There are up to two masons, and they have no powers other than knowing the other mason. They close their eyes.
-Fourth, the Seer opens his or her eyes. They are allowed to either look at one of the player's cards or two of the cards that weren't used. They close their eyes.
-Fifth, the robber opens his or her eyes. He or she can trade his card with any other players, then look at it to see his or her new role. He or she closes their eyes after that.
-Sixth, the troublemaker wakes up. He or she switches two players cards of their choice, but doesn't look at either, before going back to sleep.
-Seventh is the drunk. The drunk wakes up and swaps his or her card with a card from the leftover roles. But the drunk does NOT know what role he or she has taken before going back to sleep.
-Lastly is the insomniac. The only ability of the insomniac is to see if they are still the insomniac after everyone else has done their roles before going back to sleep.
There are two more roles that don't wake up during the night.
-The hunter has the ability where, if he or she is voted to die during the night, he or she also kills whoever they voted for to kill by firing off a last shot.
-The tanner is a role that WANTS to die. The tanner wins (and everyone else loses) only if he or she is killed.
So basically:
2 Werewolves
1 Minion
2 Masons
1 Seer
1 Robber
1 Troublemaker
1 Insomniac
1 Drunk
1 Hunter
1 Tanner
Town wins if they kill at least one werewolf. Werewolf wins if they both survive. Tanner wins if they are killed.
From there, the group has (in real life) 10 minutes to discuss the situation and decide who they want to kill. At the end of the ten minutes, discussion must stop entirely. On three, everyone points at who they vote for for death. The person or persons with the majority are killed (which could be multiple people if there are an equal number of votes). And that decides the winners.
So for a forum version, the person running it would assign roles, letting roles that know of each other know of one another as necessary. They then have everyone make their choices as necessary, in order, until it's finished. When all of the choices are finished, the 'day' begins in a thread. I'd give the thread a week due to the lag between people in different timezones. So about the same as a normal mafia game here. When the day is over, the person running it would have all players PM him or her their votes, then announce what happens in the main game thread.
