Anybody have any legitimately terrible games that they played all the way through, despite knowing that they were horrible?

I'll start with my example. Def Jam Icon.

So many.
Red Steel is the one that comes to mind.

I beat "I wanna be the guy" in a few hours without complaining, I thought it was a good game.

As for playing through a horrible game, "World of Warcraft".

I'm sorry but you can never complete World of Warcraft. Disqualified.

I would say Gemmi Force for the Megadrive (Gensis). Freakn game's difficulty just escalated towards the end and if didn't have the right weapon mix you wouldn't win.

I can't remember the combination but there was a fire one and a green one that would automatically attack your target. All you had to do was dodge.
It was really too big:

I give you this instead

Spellforce. Actually the combat was alright, but the dialogue and voice acting was almost as bad as House of the Dead II. And it's about twenty times as long.

Yes.

lol, yes.

I can't come up with any others off the top of my head, but they'll come to me.
Uh, pretty much every Harvest Moon game EVER. (I love them, yet I KNOW how stupid they are.)

I absolutely CONQUERED a bunch of bad games for the N64. A few that come to mind are
Rocket: Robot on wheels
and
Jet Force Gemini.

You're entitled to your opinion, but Jet Force Gemini has an 80% on Metacritic, including an 81% from IGN and an 88% from Gamespot. So it's not really, objectively, a bad game.

I was a big Simpsons fan back in the day & was excited to receive Bart Vs the World for my birthday back when it was new. I don't know how I had the patience to play all the way through that lousy game. Probably because it was free & getting new games back then was a rare & special event. I won't have anything to do with it anymore.

To see just how bad it is, check out the Angry Video Game Nerd review.

Final Fantasy 8

Trash.

Yeah, despite the Gunblade being AWESOME.
And 8 (VIII) being the last Final Fantasy before all the characters started looking like women.
It was hella broken, and had the lamest plot of the entire series.
I think you all talked about it on a podcast at one point though.

I stand corrected. I didn't mean that so much as an example of a bad game as an example of a game I beat the tar out of. I think it deserves a next gen remake.
A good one. None of that Turok nonsense.

Oh, here's another good one.

The 3d Sonic games. All of them. I don't know why I keep buying them; they're actually getting worse with each new release.

Here's to hoping Sonic Unleashed is decent.

Having gotten it for Christmas, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for the Wii.

Really bad voice acting and storyline, but the gameplay is darn addictive.

I have Red Steel, and I like it quite a lot. Now, granted, it has it's faults, which is really only natural considering how early it came out (For many it was bundled with the Wii itself soon after release). The sword mechanics are a little wonky and the targeting could be better, but overall I consider it a fair game with a reasonably decent storyline.

Eh, I beat FF8. It wasn't that bad. 12 was worse.

Now, X-2, that was bad. And I beat it. Twice. I'm stupid like that.

King Kong for the 360, if it weren't for the extremely easy achievements I would have stopped before I was even half way through.

Actually...I found the business of "you can't get to the FINAL final boss until you collect all the impossible-to-reach villagers" to be utter nonsense, personally. That kind of made me hate the game, though I'd had lots of fun with it up until then...
