Doom: Fall of Mars

Postby Iverix » 10 Mar 2009, 01:35

I didn't see this posted on the forums, so I thought I'd throw it out there! There was a recent post on Destructoid about an individual that began creating a Doom game with Diablo-style gameplay. It was later posted on Diablofans.com in their news section.

Complete with isometric view and hack-and-slash gameplay, this game brings back OLD memories and, even by the two screenshots, some good laughs with what may yet to come if this game actually gets finished.

Here are the three screenshots that came with diablofan's post.

It looks pretty damn silly, and true to the original doom. I think it'll be freeware too :P

There's some more screenshots at the actual site... though I can't remember where it is.

Oh man, that brings back memories...

I'm very surprised and excited by how accurate the presentation is.

It also amazes me how easy it is to make games like this now compared to when this was ground breaking technology.
