Dystopia

Postby teknotheef » 01 Apr 2009, 08:18

Just wondering if there were any other Dystopia players among the LRRian Empire. For those unfamiliar, Dystopia is a cyberpunk HL2 mod that focuses on objective-based team play. Dystopia-game.com

I hate Dystopia personally, can't stand trying to manage augments while fighting people and covering objectives. Plus when-ever I play I get owned by all the people who play it a lot and get really good.

I prefer the old "Headshot = Dead" system, not this stupid augments armor health boost garbage.

I have downloaded it, and tried playing it occasionally, but I'm unsure.
I think that the mod is very well done, and very interesting, but I can't help feeling that it would be better as a single player game: they have a wonderfully interesting premise and potential for a storyline that is wasted on a multiplayer game.

Anyway, just me £0.02

Two Euro cents? that's like... $0.03. And I admit, Dystopia can be quite complicated, but it's excellent once you learn how to manage.

2 British Pence actually. The Euro is... oh, just realised I don't have a Euro symbol on this keyboard...

Euro

I think part of the problem I found with Dystopia is that the tutorial doesn't really explain the more complicated side of decking: I tried decking once in a multiplayer match and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The combat itself isn't bad, although my natural inability to aim (I blame TF2 ;)) is a bit of a barrier to me doing well, as is the skill of the people playing it...
