I was fortunate to grow up with an uncle who keep his top-of-the-line computer at our house, so I would spend hours apon hours watching him play. At the same time, my cousins had all the newest consoles, meaning I could experiance both at once. When I was old enough to play a game the first one I remember being shown was Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. My mum loved that I was playing it because it was a tactics game, so I was useing stratagies and such. I then moved on to Diablo II, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. The first game I ever beat is actually a difficult question to answear. Since most of my first games were either old school Mario or Zelda, something that I would have to shutoff be for beating, and classic computer games, things I could not beat on a difficulty level of easy (I was young), I never really beat games. My first console I owned was probubly my N64, and I don't remember ever beating anything. I think my first beaten game that I can remember was Super Mario 64.
Thanks for asking this question, by the way. I'm just remembering the feeling of watching my Uncle play Diablo I, or play Warcraft III with his friends, or that original feeling, and see if you can remember this one, when The Legend of Zelda was not a Link game, but rather this cool game with trees and monsters and stuff. Very nostalgic.

The very first game I recall playing is: Super Mario All-Stars. (Though my parents say it was Super Mario World)

The very first game i beat was Pokémon Yellow, Which was an impressive feat for me at the time, since i was like 6-7 and couldn't read english back then.

Both my first console and first handheld game was Pokemon Blue for the Gameboy (I had a pocket, also the first game I actually bought, and so far the only game system I've bought).

Well the first game I ever played was Duck Hunter for NES. The first I actually beat on my own, I think it was either James Bond 007: Golden Eye for the N64 or Zelda Ocarina of Time for the N64.

I'm pretty sure it was Pokemon Yellow. Or Super Mario Brothers Deluxe, both for the GameBoy color. Those were the only games I had for 3 years...

This one arcade game at a fish and chip shop. The guy who owned it would give me coins to play the game from time to time when I was about three. All I can remember is that you break rubbish bins to get items out of.

If anyone can find me this specific 1992-ish arcade game where you get something out of rubbish bins you would make my life COMPLETE.

First serious game: Sonic 1 on Master System or Ultima IV

Though the screen shots I've got there don't show it, you did break a few garbage cans to get weapons. So your game might be Double Dragon.

No, that is not it.

We could make a forum game out of this where we rejuvenate nostalgia and HELP each other :D

edit: Oh yeah, the game had far less colour, so it might have been older than that. I think the main character was yellow.
