Dawn of War 2 Players

Postby davefp » 07 Jul 2009, 08:36

I notice that while we have a fair few people interested in StarCraft on the forums, we also have a handful of DoW2 players around. I would like to put together a list of players so that we can expand our list of friends and hopefully find some match-ups. I'll go first.

Well I haven't gotten it running properly yet. I get weird graphical glitches and then crashes. My drivers are all up to date, and I exceed the minimum system requirements, so I don't know what the problem is.

But hopeefully I'll get it sorted out at some point.

got it the day it cam out and have enjoyed every second of the co-op campaign with my friend. Haven t really tried the multiplayer aspect beyond the campaign

BobssAvatar message me if you want but you'd have better luck with steam since i fervently hate GFWL.

on steam i am in the LRR public group (guess which one)

Yeah those were fun.

I want to change my gamertag. Can I do that without creating a whole new profile?

Necro!

Dawn of War just got an expansion, called Chaos Rising. As the name suggests, it adds Chaos as a playable race.

Tim and I have both been playing again recently, so if anyone else from the forums would like to join us, feel free! My Live username is still the same as posted in the top of the thread, but I think Tim's has changed. Hope to see some more people in game!

I play real warhammer... But I appreciate Games Workshop getting some support on teh forum. Plus I've never been able to get into RTS's. If I liked playing them I totally would play DOW2 none stop.

I play on the Last Stand mode occasionally, but I've not tried a full multiplayer game yet.

Ooh, I had actually forgotten all about the last stand mode. I should try that out again sometime. I always used to play as the Mekboy with a telaporta and heavy shoota. Tonnes of fun. I hear that they've added the Hive Tyrant and Chaos Sorcerer as characters for it, too.

Mine is still the same.

Apparently my Nids need a bit of a buff... Raveners don't seem as strong as they used to be. Hormagaunts get a needed nerf, too.

I'm quite enjoying playing a ranged Eldar army. No Banshees, just lots of guardians with a shuriken cannon to back them up. I usually do pretty well until T2 rolls round, then I flounder somewhat. Wraithguard seem to be my best option so far, but they're so slow.

Depends on the matchup. Against Nids I'd get two Shurikens, then Warp Spiders in T2 for soft AV and use your hero for AV as well, if needed.

Warp Spiders can warp in to melee enemy setup weapons in T2, as well, in general.

Nothing beats a Tyranid army ripping the fleshies apart. Their hunger never quenched until they've consumed all!

Also Orks are fun too

Be sure to message me/yell at me on LIVE go actually get me to boot up the game for a match or two.

@Tim, I know that you can change your LIVE gamertag, but the problem with that is that it costs 700 Microsoft points...

...or you could just use another email address and change it for free :/ . Not the simplest solution but I think its ridiculous to expect people to pay to change their in game name.. Personally since it installs steam on it I don't even see why it uses games for windows live at all but whatever.

Oh, don't make that condescending ":/" face at me. A new email address would mean a new account and profile altogether. That means friends would need to be re-added, achievements would be lost, etc.

ah yes I forgot about those and that, and uhh that. I'd kind of like to change my name but I refuse to pay.

Moving right along, I have an exhibition on Wednesday the work which I am presently attempting to finish and then I will seek challengers on Dawn of War 2. You should have an easy time with me but hey, I want some fun.

That was a great game. I really wish we'd had a fourth person to round things out. I uploaded the replay if anyone is interested in watching:

It was a good set of games. It was challenging, more so than I was comfortable with I had to think about what my units were doing, and times were hard. I'm not used to playing against humans who adjust to you adjusting to their adjusting.
