[Genghis Ares]

Brask approaches the Knights and Kile and tries to diffuse the situation. "Look why don't we talk about this and not jump to any retarded conclusions. How about we get that local alchemist and see if he has any knowledge of this so called "Tainted Aura". You guys don't even know what it is and you're jumping to the lad. Now aren't you under the authority of the royal court, which Kile is a part of. Are you guys even aloud to take action in this kind of situation, especially toward a member of the royal family you take orders from? I suggest we all calm down and seek some real information from a knowledgable source."

[Tim]

"Be silent, fool," says the leader of the knights as they dismount and move into a combat formation. "You don't realize what has been standing in your midst, in front of your very eyes. Make your decision now: will you stand on the side of purity or impurity? Must we cut you down along with this abomination?"

[Genghis Ares]

Brask rolls his eyes and says, "Do whatever you want, I'm not in your way. You guys can jump the bow as you like."

[Dave-O_Boy]

"Wait good Sir knight. Won't killing Prince Kile prevent us.. err you from finding out what vile being did this to him? Isn't an investigation for the source of such taint in order," Lux reasons, "There must be a connection to our find young friend here and the mysterious forthcomings of my follow companions."

[Metcarfre]

Arahinn slowly rises from having tackled Kile and brushes the dirt off himself. Hearing the heated conversation around him, he shakes his head in disbelief. He then looks at Kile cowering on the ground in fear. Slowly, his gaze turns to the knights.

"There was a time, long ago," he slowly intones, "when you Men attacked my people out of fear and weakness. Instead of speaking of peace and harmony, you attacked us with sword and spear. I had hoped," he continues in a louder voice, "that the King and his offspring would bring some measure of civility and common sense to your young and proud race.

I see now, that that hope was in vain. That the feeble minds of Men can only grasp that which is in front of them, in fear and greed. We have no quarrel with you; no need to fight. But you provoke such rancor with your words, it makes me wonder at our own fate, should you dispatch with our companion here."

Arahinnstretches his limbs in anticipation. "I am not a warlike fellow. But when I see a sad creature about to be destroyed at the whim of a tyrant, it boils my blood. Call foolish, call me sentimental, or simply..." he nocks an arrow to his bow at this word, "...call me your death."

Arahinn shoots his bow at the closest Knight.

Seeing that the course of action has being decided, William throws his spear at the nearest knight and readies a second one.

Reacting quickly to the attacks, Lux lights the home-made bomb and tosses near the feet of the nearest guards. He then runs over to the prince and attempts to bring the boy off his feet and run to a safe place with him.

(OOC: Lux's reasoning is that he would be pretty useless in a fight if they are armed with anti-magic things)

Brask fires a shot from his crossbow at any Knight not facing him.

Prenol takes his guard, knife still at throat, away from the fight.

SURPRISE ROUND

Arahinn shoots his bow at the closest Knight.

(1)+1 The arrow whizzes past Knight Leader's face.


COMBAT BEGINS

Knight 5 attempts to break free of Prenol's hold on him.

Knight's roll: 5. Prenol's roll: 5. Prenol wins due to superior tactical position. The knight is unable to break free.


Knight 3 attacks Kile.

(2)+1 His swing misses the fallen young prince.


The Knight Leader swings his sword at Kile.

(6)+1 He strikes the young man, (2) but it's only a glancing blow. Kile is Moderately wounded.


Lux lights the home-made bomb and tosses near the feet of the nearest guards.

(6) Lux concentrates hard and focusses a point of light onto the wick of the improvised explosive. The wick catches flame and Lux throws the device to the ground at the enemies' feet. It explodes, hitting Knight Leader (4) for Moderate damage, Knight 2 (6) for Major damage, Knight 3 (4) for Moderate damage, and Knight 4 (5) for Moderate damage.

[YOU ONLY GET ONE ACTION PER ROUND. THIS ACTION WILL NOT BE FOLLOWED.] Lux then runs over to the prince and attempts to bring the boy off his feet and run to a safe place with him.


Prenol takes Knight 5, knife still at throat, away from the fight.

(1) Prenol tries to drag the Knight away without losing his grip, but the Knight resists.


William throws his spear at the nearest knight and readies a second one.

(6)+1 The spear flies straight and true, (1) striking Knight 3 where his armor is the strongest and doing no damage.


Brask fires a shot from his crossbow at any Knight not facing him.

(2) Brask's bolt flies errant and misses its target.



COMBAT STATUS

Arahinn fires again at the Knight Leader.

William moves to a slightly different position, and throws his second spear at knight 4.

Prenol tries to knock the struggling knight out.

Lux then runs over to the prince and attempts to bring the boy off his feet and run to a safe place with him.

Brask throws an axe at a Knight.

Derrik quickly uncoils his whip and attempts to trip up the Knight Leader.

Arahinn fires again at the Knight Leader.

(3)+1 Arahinn's arrow flies straight and true, but the Knight manages to twist partially out of the way, (1)+1 and the arrow grazes his side, causing a Minor wound. The maneuver is too much for the Knight in his weakened state and with his heavy armor, and he has lost too much blood. He collapses to the ground, unconscious.


Knight 5 attempts to break free of Prenol's grasp.

(6)-1 The Knight wrenches himself violently and throws himself to the ground. In doing so, he grazes his neck on Prenol's knife, causing a Minor Wound to himself.


Knight 3 attacks Kile with his sword.

(3)+1 The Knight strikes Kile with his sword, (1) but hits loose cloth.


Knight Leader is unconscious.


Lux then runs over to the prince and attempts to bring the boy off his feet and run to a safe place with him.

(2) Kile seems unresponsive due to his terror. Lux is unable to move him.


Kile cowers and covers his head.


Derrik quickly uncoils his whip and attempts to trip up Knight 2.

(3)+1 The whip cracks and wraps around Knight 2's ankles. Derrik gives a mighty heave and the Knight falls to the ground.


Prenol tries to knock the struggling Knight 5 out.

(2)+1 Knight 5 is protected by too much armor; Prenol's efforts are ineffectual.


Knight 2 struggles with the whip around his ankles and tries to stand.

(4) Knight 2 is able to kick free of the constraining whip and gets to his feet.


William throws his second spear at Knight 4.

(5)+1 The spear soars through the air (6) and embeds itself in Knight 4's stomach, causing a Major Wound and knocking the Knight back by a few steps. Knight 4 has a Major and a Moderate Wound.


Knight 4 clutches at the spear in his stomach and tries to pull it free.

(1) As the Knight yanks on the spear, it twists in his grasp, causing further damage to his intestinal area. Blood and water pour from the wound, and the Knight collapses, unconscious.


Brask throws an axe at Knight 2.

(6) The throwing axe spins through the air and catches Knight 2 in the shoulder, (4) rending his armor and Moderately Wounding him. Knight 2 has a Major and a Moderate Wound.


COMBAT STATUS

"C'mon you idoit! we gotta get you out of here!" Lux yells at Kile. He then tries to fend off (aka attack) Knight 3.

William drops the bundle and grabs the third spear, leaving the underbrush, he moves to attack knight 3.

Brask fires another shot from his Crossbow at Knight 2.

Arahinn fires his bow at Knight 2.

Prenol attacks Knight 5, with the goal to knock out the knight.
