DnD 3.5 game(for srs this time)

Postby Joshua » 04 Aug 2009, 18:03

Ok, I know, I haven't been exactly an ideal DM seeing as I kinda just stopped last time I tried this, but I was over ambitious last time and shit happened, as oft it does.

Anyhow, this is how it will be, I won't be doing any maps, I will try to tell you where you enemies are at and how far away they are, if I forget or you are unsure just post asking I will explain it better or further.

I will roll all dice, this forum doesn't have built in dice rolling and out sourcing it to myth-weavers or any other site seems ridicules to me now. I don't like rolling the dice for everything, but it does let me fudge it if something horrible happens.

I want four players first come first served, regardless of experience.

I work Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays 10pm-7am UTC/GMT -6 hours(i think) I may in the foreseeable future begin working Fridays again.

Another point I would like to bring up, is that I may fudge(change dice numbers, usually in favor of you guys.) now then, I would like a vote how you, the players, would like me to DM strict(no fudging, will let you die on a horribly lucky roll by an enemy) or easy going (I may turn critical by enemies into non-crits possibly change damage rolls by them, help with certain skill rolls.) I am asking because I may be tempted to protect you since I am in control of all the dice, however if you are willing to accept the alternative I will not.

So, shall we?

I am afraid not, I did a clean up awhile ago on myth-weavers, been playing a lot of games recently, sorry.

This will help you make a new one, if you don't still have it. Just don't stray from the base races and classes, unless you know what you are doing.

Should I make any changes?

How many of these are going to go on? We've got ARISEN(forum RPG of course but still), the Lovecraft one, we've got 4e and now this.

Anyway, I'll join in if it actually happens, as I have wanted to play something like this but it hasn't occured yet.

Welcome two more people and I will kick this off, and yes I know I was hoping those other two where going to happen, however it seems they might not, but even if they do I shan't abandon my post, barring physical harm, I really hope I never flip a car again, so.

Smity is back, but even better.

I vote for strict style game play.

Also, what level? core rules only?

Well, glad to see you back. Stick around, pull up a chair and watch some videos.

I vote that if someone has to fudge, that it be chocolate.

And so the cast is set.

Edit: Got a little ahead of myself with that one liner, lets start characters at level 5 and get some sheets going, please tell me if you need any help or resources.

How would I go about changing my sheet for level 5 instead of 1?

its a function on http://www.myth-weavers.com/ make an account go to sheets they have templates for nearly everything.

to level up your character add your hit die to your hp 4 times + your constituition mod 4 times , also you will get to choose one more feat for reaching level 3 and add 1 point to one of your abilities(str, chr,con etc..) you also get how many ever skill points your class gets, and depending on class you need to look up your spells, and how they may have changed.

This sheet isn't 100% but I would say it is about 90% done. This can give some of you an example to refer to. Please ask questions. I don't bite.

EDIT: crap! skills.

EDIT: All better.

Oh ok. I had already made an account there for the Lovecraft COC rpg, but I thought the "new sheet" option was for uploading a sheet, but not creating it. Cool thanks. Now I can make one for both.

Ok, I used the 3.5e generator from that pathguy website, and then filled in the sheet with that info. Everything that didn't have a place I just put in the "other notes" section.

What do I do for items and currency? I'll remind you I've never played DnD.

Forget your hp rolls take full hit dice for each level, 8 for you so your health would be 50.

did you choose a feat for 3rd level, and did you ad one ability point to any one start(str con dex etc...) Also since we are starting at level 5 your gold is 9,000 plus your starting class gold.
