Favourite Gamecube Games
Favourite Gamecube Games
well, i somehow missed getting a gamecube back in the day, and i've only played a few games for brief periods when i had my wii. i just bought a boxed GC for very cheap, so now i'm looking into buying some games.
any suggestions of your favourites would be great, including japanese imports. also, if anyone has any for sale, i'd be interested.

The only time I ever played a Gamecube was when I worked at Nintendo.

Try some of these:
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
- Super Smash Bros: Melee
- F-Zero GX
- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
- Tales of Symphonia
Oh yes, and if you aren't as narrow-minded about cel shading graphics as some people, then you might like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

God, wind waker is soooo good. Also Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes.

Also, there is a version of Twilight Princess for GC. I don't know what they did with the controls on the Wii, but if you want to avoid whatever fresh hell they created, play the GC version.
I'll also give a solid recommendation to Super Monkey Ball. Best party game EVER.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Zelda: Wind Waker
F-Zero GX
Time Splitters 2 and 3

See the odd thing about wind waker is, I played and liked it, but still thought it was trash. I'm strange. Maybe it was being on a FUCKING BOAT THAT'S A FUCKING KING.

Re: Favourite Gamecube Games
The only game that I can think of that I go back to on a regular basis is Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.
Re: Favourite Gamecube Games
thanks for the suggestions, guys. it's always better to get a range of different people's opinions over a website recommendation. also, i'd like to know more about this:

The only game cube game I played was Pikmen. It was pretty fun for the hour or so I played it.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, that game is just hilarious. If you didn't laugh during the first boss "fight" then you have lost your sense of humor entirely.

Wind waker and sanity's requim are both great.
I also oddly loved chibi robo, They do a fantastic job of making you feel like you'rejust this tiny little creature.

QFT.
Super Smash Bros. Melee. I really loved NHL Hitz as well; it's not a GOOD game, in retrospect, but we had a lot of fun playing it. A little hockey game, probably cost something like $2 now.
Mario Kart, as always, was very fun.
Resident Evil 4.
The Paper Mario game(s) for it were fantastic. (were there two for Gamecube? I think there were.)

THIS!!!!!!
I was wondering if anyone else would say it, 'cause it's totally true. =D
Yeah, again, Eternal Darkness, Wind Waker (even though the boat is a king and you have to waste some time on it, it's still worth it for the good bits), Paper Mario...
Re: Favourite Gamecube Games

Wasn't that in Twilight Princess?
Re: Favourite Gamecube Games
I think something similar was, but it was on Wind Waker too.
Re: Favourite Gamecube Games
Windwakers was much creepier.
And didnt limit you to what treasures you had found.
Though to be fair, you couldnt get to it until the very end of the game. but still. WW's was much better executed.
Had me shitting bricks in that creepy dark hole a few times =D

There was only 1 Paper Mario game on the gamecube. Super Paper Mario was in development for the GC but they decided to ditch the purple cube and go straight to Wii, hence why the motion controls in SPM feel forced.
