:D Oh man, this brings back so many great box text related memories.

That is to say, horrifying memories, but great all the same.

Something like that. It also had pounce. Which was surprising.

I thought the product placement was also a bit forced, but I had written that off as "since I know it's there, it seems obvious". My brain probably did more to make it stick out than the episode it. And I don't think that made the episode bad by any means, but I did sort of "notice".

Tally and Jer's trick or treating made me laugh so hard that my brother wandered over to see what I was laughing at, and he cracked up when I replayed it, even without context.

Woo! cHustle for my birthday! Best birthday ever!

Yeah, the product placement did feel a bit long in the tooth, but the video was still funny in spite of that.

Why would Tally need to do that? I'd give her candy in that Hobbes outfit anytime!

Also; I'm with most others and the product placement. It felt... off.

I don't know; to me, a lot of the lines, Kathleen's in particular, seemed kind of stilted, and that sort of added to the weirdness. I think it is partially just that we're looking for it, though; the second time I watched it it seemed really obvious.

I was gonna say something about the product placement, and agreeing that it was a little off.

And then I saw the characters of Cars 2 pitching State Farm insurance.

It was way better than THAT, for f'ing sure.

I'm sure it's something you could get better at, if the opportunity presents itself. On the other hand, I didn't even like those Doritos commercials.

I can try to be more specific, if you think it'd be helpful/necessary/hate me forever.

Also, this video was hilarious to me, and I wasn't put off by the product placement at all.

And now I want a "No save vs Box Text" t-shirt...

We mentioned this a while ago (and there's a thread in the main forum) but Alex is stepping back to focus more on his own projects. He is a creative guy who needs to spread himself around.

Wait.
That didn't come out right.

I just watched it again. It's not as forced as I remembered it being, but some of it seems a little forced somehow.

First! How has no one commented on the monopoly thing? BEST PART. I want to marry paul.

Re: The product placement thing:
I was not looking for it, so I'm pretty objective there. It seemed off, and I think this is why. Adding that is adding something that is not part of your creative flow (while your writing) so it feels like something spliced in from an external situation. Sometimes your videos have a bit that doesn't quite flow the same, and this was one of those times...
Watching again, It looks like you tried to just cover the placement with an overly intense joke.
idk, not my favorite thing, but you guys will figure it out.

I do think there is a bit of that. At first, I didn't even notice at all. Then when you started explaining stuff at 3:50 or so I thought "Man, this sounds forced and unnatural" and that's when I thought "Oooh, right, product placement". But I think it would have seemed out of place to me either way. I probably wouldn't have thought it was product placement, but I would have thought you were overexplaining the joke or something.

Now looking at it again, the part when you said you stole it from Jer because you're not supposed to play it at home is possibly a tiny bit overexplaining it as well but it works fine. It's really the part afterwards that was jarring for me.

Take Magic. Now, I know it's famous and already out and all, but I watched your videos before playing it, and they were hilarious, and they got me into it. You don't spend ages explaining "see, you can play a land each turn, and then you play cards depending on their mana cost, which is written up there" or something.

I feel if you had just kept the part with "you have 20 rounds" it would have been enough for people to realise it was something new or at least wonder about it.

On the video itself: I liked the "ooh, a piece of candy" bit. The costumes were nice, and the whole video made me wish I was from a country that did trick or treating when I was a kid, since now I'm indeed too old and will never get to do it.
I liked the Monopoly box thing. Which you can see again in a later scene. Are you product placing for them too now? :P

It might sound weird, but... it seems to me you guys are a bit less natural when you play yourselves. Is it harder being caricatures of yourselves than entirely new characters?
