Re: The File
I realize now what I didn't in the previous episode, that the Laugh-o-tron has a face.

I was still sick, but not super sick when I wrote it. We had a brainstorming session between Graham, Paul, James and myself, and then I wrote this based on what we'd discussed and a couple of other jokes I wanted to throw in. I really want to do more Spaced style magical realism scenes in cH, and shooting some goofy horror/suspense stuff was extremely fun.

And I just realized, that the Laugh-o-tron is Actually the Function Generater Paul found when they Moved the Moonbase, and that was Later used in the Setup in the Bee-Team to kill the Bees invading the Moonbase. There it was called a stealth sound ampheter or something.

Re: The File
I know you have mentioned it being an influence for you all before, so I hope you'll appreciate when I say the intro bit was VERY "Spaced".

Re: The File
I like Paul's security upgrades.

Personally, I got stuck on the "minigolf" level of excel. I played it for hours on my work machine, but whether lack of skill or motivation, I couldn't move past it.

As a fan of both Spaced, AND the kind of "day trip to Wrongsville" humor that you write, I am all in favor of this.
Also, "dickbutt" is only marginally worse than some actual passwords I've seen in the wild.

I don't know what you mean by this, but I am very in favour of this description.

We did tell some people that very thing, as selling point

It never ceases to amaze me how completely fragmented your fanbase is. So many people absolutely adore one thing but are oblivious to the rest of your projects. Its just fascinating

Re: The File
It's really comical how misinformed people can be. It was brought up a lot during the Kickstarter, but some people don't absorb information very well. I'm sure having to repeat the phrase "We aren't going anywhere" got old after the 20th time

I think my favorite story is Mike "Gabe" Krahulik getting recognized at PAX as one of the judges from Strip Search. They had no idea that he had other reasons for being there.
Re: The File
What I like about that is, then what did think were his qualifications to be judging Strip Search?Dominic Appleguard wrote:I think my favorite story is Mike "Gabe" Krahulik getting recognized at PAX as one of the judges from Strip Search. They had no idea that he had other reasons for being there.

If only he'd applied the slightest amount of critical thinking to the situation, he would've noticed that it didn't add up. Apparently that's too much to ask from the internet

Work in IT, or any form of customer services, and you'll quickly fine it's not just an issue with the internet.

I was under the assumption that my high school job doing customer service at a hardware store exposed me to the worst humanity had to offer. Turns out I simply underestimated the "common" part of the phrase "lowest common denominator"

Re: The File
What I've found is that the only commonalities between customers it that they're usually alive and most likely people. Other than that, you can't assume anything.
