I just realized I used to have exactly the same glasses as Paul (until they broke).
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then wouldn't hurt.

How'd you get the WebOS story up so fast when Graham and Kathleen were in England for the past week?
But yeah... the idea of HP licensing WebOS when they're not making new devices is just inherently funny to me. "We don't have any hope for this ecosystem, even though we spent billions of dollars to buy out the company that made it, but maybe you'll do better!" But RIP, Palm. My PalmPilot that my godfather gave me when I was in middle school was one of my favorite gadgets. (Also, anyone else have any luck finding a $99 Touchpad? My school store didn't get the memo about the price cut and was still selling them at $499.)
Also, I half expected "Ryan Quickbender" when you said "financial know-it-all". But Paul was still awesome.

They did this one over the weekend, right after they got back. The past two were actually done in advance, but they knew they couldn't do anything remotely topical with a 3-week delay, so they always planned to just cram one out right after they got back.

Gunner is correct. We wrote, filmed, graphiced and edited that yesterday.

Re: Episode 16 - Gamestop Ex-Stream
Two things:
1. Can I get a sound file of Graham saying "Pong"? Pretty please?
2. HP are now no longer my favourite smartphone and touchpad manufacturers. I like the products themselves (and yes I got a touchpad when it first came out for full price) but to basically take them out back and put a bullet through their heads when they've barely gotten off the ground? I think that counts as crimes against humanity. Oh well hopefully I can find an unlocked Pre3 for a reasonable cost.
Great episode

I feel like this video explains the HP situation pretty well.

And unusually I am in agreement with him 100%
I also have to bring up this quote from CEX:
"Is it an IPhone? Or at least a really good Android phone?"
"No"
"Then no-one will care."
That's 80% of the problem right there!
But yes HP are indeed idiots. (not saying anything against any of my fellow LRRites who may work for HP though. Unless you actually made that decision of course)

Re: Episode 16 - Gamestop Ex-Stream
Sweet, was that an intentional Eddie Izzard reference there at the end, or just an awesome coincidence?

Complete Izzard reference.

Try telling that to Microsoft. They're pouring most of their money-pit into Windows Phone 7, in spite of the fact that most people are going Android (with iPhone a close second).

Unfortunately, UbiSoft are just living down to their reputation. Them and Paradox are incredibly horrible to their customers.
As Yahtzee said, there is no middle finger big enough.

Watson also kicks ass at Jeopardy. Or was the pong thing just a joke?
Also, I made sure to screencap this.

Re: Episode 16 - Gamestop Ex-Stream
More than just another sterling episode, what I really admire this week is the commitment that went in. Even knowing how this week would be done ahead of time, I've still gotta marvel at the work ethic that'd put a pit pony to shame.
