Spies, double-agents, space carriers: an average day for EVE Online.

I'm thinking Vivendi would fit perfectly into EVE culture.

I think this video proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Kathleen has Butts' Disease

No mention of Xbox or Microsoft this week?

Are y'all feeling alright?

Oh and if you spend 18k real money on a game I do not feel sorry when you lose it.

Well, that $18k was spread out not just over one clan, but an alliance of clans, but yeah...that's always the biggest thing that grabs the attention 'non-podders' whenever EVE shenanigans are recounted. :)

Also. Kathleen., what can I say?

They didn't necessarily spend $18k of "real" money on the game. That figure comes from the fact that Eve Online is a subscription-based MMO, and the monthly fees and time codes actually correspond to in-game items, which can be traded, bought, and sold between players just as any other valuable in-game item would be (such as a Battleaxe of the Boar in WoW). This establishes a conversion rate between the in-game going rate for a monthly time code, and the "real-money" cost for the same item.¹

So those battleships could be obtained entirely through in-game means, it's just that the in-game cost is equivalent to the in-game cost of $18k worth of monthly time codes.

¹There are actually other (legitimate) ways to convert "real" money to in-game items and currency now, but the time codes are how the ISK-to-USD conversion rate got started.

I really liked Kathleen's take on it, I want to see her do more war correspondence.

I just realized, did this have any effect on Dust 514? Better yet, could you have played AS a trooper on the super carrier DURING the fight?
