Do you need common sense and market research if you have wild, unattainable dreams? Yes Madcatz, you do.

So... what credentials do Madcatz even have really? I mean, I know they make kinda shitty third-party controllers and similar items. But have they really done anything beyond that before?

I'm no Xdrone or Sony fanboy. The games I want are on the Google Play store, so I'm buying a Mojo.

"Your target demographic doesn't exist."
So many businesses need to hear this line....

Also, go go Aussie over priced games!
I want a Pinkie launcher.

I like how Graham's intros sound slightly more reassuring each time. I bet next week's is going to be something like:

"The game industry is super shitty, you guys. But don't worry, this is Checkpoint!"
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Who at MadCatz thought this was a good idea? Ive told friends about it just to hear their opinions and no one wants one. If they didn't want a Ouya they definitely don't want a Mojo.

Final Fantasy 6 is coming to mobile devices?
Can't wait to see the $20 price tag with it.

Damnit MadCatz, this is why we can never have anything nice.

I am, however, pleased to see you guys have put in a homesite player page for Checkpoint videos now. :D

OMG YES. Another thing that won't send me to a different website when I click the "Random Video" button.

Okay, as I said in last week's thread (just a few minutes ago), MadCatz's console peripherals aren't ALL shite; some were actually pretty good. It just seems that management there seems to go by the 'quantity over quality' strategy - if they release a whole pile of different products, at least SOME of them have to be quality products that will sell well 'just by the law of averages'.

Oh, and a few years ago they bought a company renowned for making high-quality (yet affordable {I'm looking at YOU, ThrustMaster™}) PC flight simulation peripherals, so provided they don't muck with the designs and product lineup of their subsidiary, they'll have a reputation-building revenue stream.

But yeah, LOVE that stinger! I'm kinda more excited about KS-Aus/NZ than KS-Can...despite living in the latter country. This might well mean a more robust domestic indie game market, which might just be the slap in the face that the mainstream corporatist industry needs to wise up about their 'traditional' gouging. *grumble about bullshit shenanigans*

I have to concur, I've never heard someone say that they really want to be able to play Angry Birds or something on their big screen TV. I play mobile games because they go on my phone or iPad and I can take them...You know...Mobile?
