Miss the "good old days" of the console wars? No? Well, EA seems to.

Hm, I actually had a lot of trouble trying to figure out what starts with 'M' and ends with 'unny'...

*facepalm

I'm surprised the blame is landing on Evil Amalgamated's doorstep - M$ is pretty renowned for shoving exclusivity clauses down devs' throats; it's what killed what would have been "MechWarrior V" and caused the single-player game to morph into a pay2win MMO.

Oh, and that's an odd 'extra minute' you've got there - did that crop up on BT's end or PA's?

Oh, it's on Microsoft for sure, but EA agreed to it and didn't tells the devs.

Maybe EA recently hired some executives from Blackberry? Their engineers can certainly sympathize with how the Titanfall devs feel right now.

I just wonder how much work the devs did with the PS4 before they were told the game would not be released on that platform...

Yeah, I noticed that too. I actually watched the whole minute of dead air thinking that maybe something was going to happen. Apparently not so much. Heck, that minute of staring at a blank screen though was at least as fun as most EA product these days, so, there you go!

another great episode but i would like to point out that the jonathan ross thing is not the usual case of "game company paying some random celebrity to flog their shit" situation.
J Ross has a ton of respect from the gaming/nerd community over here in the UK. he is a self confessed fan of anime, and is regularly seen at conventions in the UK and not as a guest , but an actual attendee, a fact i have witnessed myself. so while it may seem like the usual bullshit the dude does have at least some respect from gamers in the UK. at least from those of us who attend cons. :D

You misunderstand. His job is not to be an ambassador to gamers, he's not flogging their shit to customers.

He's acting as an associate producer: his job is behind-the-scenes, to tell UK game devs "what gamers want to see". Which seems weird.
I don't want Ross telling Crytek UK what I want in my FPS games :|

yeah I knew that. i was just pointing out that they didn't just pay some random celebrity to do this, and actually picked someone who does at least have a basic interest in the medium.
i didn't mean the "flog their shit" comment to indicate who would be advertising the thing or anything. but hiring him and then making it known to the public is still kind of trying to attach a known celebrity to the product.
i highly doubt he will have any real influence anyway. :D :D
