Disgaea is actually pronounced with the ae as a long i sound. ...which I thought was the normal pronunciation of "gaea" in english (I was under the impression that was how greek pronunciation carried over), but dictionary.com says "Jee-ah" is the proper pronunciation.
For the record, I've never played any of the games. I just read the katakana right next to Kathleen as she said it.
