Feed Dump 203 - Reasonable Grounds for Complaints

Postby Kathleen » 06 May 2015, 09:44

This week on Feed Dump, we hear the stories of three American heroes, who refreshingly for this program, have earned the right to complain through no fault of their own!
HOLY SHIT GUYS! BEARS!

A Terry Bisson joke? In my Feed Dump? It's more likely than you think.

Also, Cam making a Star Trek joke? Interesting...

The worrying solution to the Fermi paradox is that civilizations destroy themselves before the are able to travel between the stars.

Thanks.

Yes they are. And why does the one neighbor have a pet zebra? Or maybe the bigger question is how did they get a zebra as a pet?

Cameron, channelling Scotty from Wrath of Khan after watching his nephew die in front of him?

Tell me that the pizza delivery guy was the guy who owned the zebra, and the guy who got his nipple bitten off, stabbed the guy. Please tell me this is what happened.

After watching over 200 Feeds Dump, how can we be sure there is intelligent life on *this* planet?!

On a serious note, can you get a giant drape to cover the green screen next time you use the podcast set, please? Seeing huge green squares dance around Kathleen's and Cam's glasses all episode is a bit distracting!

"Fun" fact! In Victorian England, with the horror and oppression of African colonization in full swing, there were a number of attempts to domesticate zebras and use them for horse-drawn carriages. Essentially an old-timey version of Pimp My Ride.

The problem with this? Well, temperament. Zebras, as demonstrated here, are habitual biters. Worse, when they bite, they don't let go. Even in modern zoos, zebras are one of the top causes of injuries among zookeepers.

The nips tend not to be the primary target (Fingers are), so this story is a new one.

Thanks. Interesting.

Now that I think about it, the story reminds of the bit where Jeff Foxworthy talking about the time he was told by a fan about a beaver biting a nipple off.
