Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno
I got tired of waiting and just replayed the game, myself. Playing it again after a year or so, I still like this game. And I'll admit that I like Dante as a character, after he journeys through "the Wood of Suicides."
Unsurprisingly enough, the ninth circle from the book is more interesting than in the game, as all I did was shimmy along the intestine rope-thing around the giants, and slowwwwly and carefully walk on an ice bridge that can fall apart from any misstep. All of that before Lucifer. Seems to me that more could have been done, but it's the last circle and the end of the game.
I'm a bit miffed that I didn't get all 30 pieces of silver...again.

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno
On a strange note an odd looking man asked me when Dante's inferno 2 is coming out at work today. He was very sad to find it wasnt coming in the next couple of weeks and instead likely wasnt being made.

The main part of the final circle of Hell is Satan encased in ice up to his torso. He has three heads. In one head is Brutus, in the other is Cassius, and the center head has nothing. Brutus and Cassius represent immense Treachery. The entire story is leading up to this! Shame on you, Brad. SHAME I SAY!
while not at his feet exactly their are a bunch of other people frozen up to their necks in the ice around him so somewhat true.
And yeah, how do you remember all this and forget Judas, hes the only one of the three that is actually part of Christianity (as opposed to the other two who are being punished for killing a pagan emperor).

Caesar was never emperor, he became dictator for life around the same day he dies (same day?), which is a constitutional position within the republic (although abused), rather than Imperator, which was not a republican position at all

I admit I completely failed at updating, owing to Desert Bus.
It will resume shortly.

Nonsense. Desert Bus for Hope > Dante's Inferno.

Oh, I wasn't even talking about Desert Bus; of course you couldn't have been expected to do it this past week. I meant, why weren't they all just dumped ahead of time?

Also because of Desert Bus actually. In the week leading up to it, the computer I use for exporting the GPLP vids was being used, and I couldn't actually export the videos.

Really enjoying this Let's Play. Patiently awaiting the next episode. Brad's Background information is truly fascinating. How I've never gotten around to reading this myself is beyond me.
I'm surprised other companies never tried making knock offs of this game. I wanted to play through a reimagined version of Milton's Paradise Lost. Anyone else with me on this one?

I don't know if you are being serious or not but in case you are, Milton wrote Paradise Lost. If there was a game about how Lucifer fell from grace and you were to play Michael the Archangel to fend him off and cast him into the depths of hell I would definitely play that game.

No, he's... Milton Bradley is a board game company. It's a clever joke.

It could still work though. I imagine Paradise Lost: The Board Game to be essentially Mouse Trap. Just lots of long, finely tuned set-up leading into a pointless game designed to catch the player.

John Milton was the author of Paradise Lost, just saying.

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno
I mean... I can understand using the Judas coins as a collectable for upgrades and what not, but... I mean, there's already more than 30 of them, so I guess inflation is bad in Hell (which, I suppose makes sense as there's more gold pouring around you then has been mined by man, ever). Also, it really specifies them being Judas coins rather than just pieces to silver. Are we then to assume that the coins themselves were consigned to Hell in their betrayal of Jesus? If that's the case, and considering the amount of cocaine found on most bills these days, I'm going to have to start using more credit cards. I don't want to run into to one of my 20's in Hades just because it was used in an arms deal.

Why do you go to all that effort, when you could just use Space Jump?? You could have gone through that room in two seconds and you wouldn't have had to switch to your grappling hook! Just Space Jump through it!!!
