Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
So it looks like combat could have been better after all. Still doesn't do anything for the repetitive enemies.
I'd love to sit a hard core X-men fanboy down and force them to play this because I am being annoyed by random little things and I just watched the shows and stuff, they would probably find this infuriating.

I think you guys should change his costume back, if only because how can he be football Chad without a football uniform?
Also, it seemed like there were still parts where you guys were quieter than the game audio.

There's a perfectly good reason why Magneto threw the bridge: You were going to make a quip and you've not been part of a comic-book universe long enough to earn that right

Man, Berkeley would NOT deny a scholarship based on mutantcy. If anything, there would be scholarships BASED on it.

Perhaps he had a football scholarship, and league rules prevent mutants from playing on teams. Having someone like Quicksilver on your team would be an unfair advantage.

But what if both teams had ALL the mutants?!

Just as a heads up, I think you can upgrade passive genes, too.

Then whichever team has Nightcrawler automatically wins.

What if pyro sets the entire endzone on fire?
Also since they haven't completed the game in advance this time: Go left! Go left! No the other left!
(Even though this game does appear to be pretty much a rail puncher)
Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
why does nightcrawler's collar move with his chin? it's almost as bad as the Micky ears that always face the camera.

Where all you are is Master of Magnetism, everything looks like a problem that needs a bridge dropped on it.

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
So, I popped into the SA thread during Dante's Inferno, and noticed that although the reception was better (there did seem to be some very cool conversations going on about the Divine Comedy), there were still some niggles with the presentation:
* The title card in each video
* The fact that, as it was done in one big go, they couldn't give feedback or influence the outcome, which is something of a Thing That is Done in Something Awful Let's Plays
Considering episodes 2 and 3 don't have title cards, plus you've refined the system to allow multiple play sessions, I wonder: do you guys plan on trying a third time on SA? Can they be appeased?

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
I don't think they can, to be honest.
I tried very hard but couldn't seem to do right by them

They do seem to be fastidious. Some of the SA users came off as actively dismissive of the title cards.

The whole bridge thing with Magneto seemed like a real dick move on his part. Maybe he was going for a Kill Steal.
Also my brother possessed me to say this at you, since he is an active SA forum user:
Overall response on SA seems to be positive, there's almost no negative just constructive criticism.
SA Forums in general except a level of quality and effort that you don't find on most forums. This is true even in the LP Sub-forum because they don't want it to turn into a place that is basically buried in Youtube quality LPs.
Also except a certain level of hyperbole, that's just par for the course.

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
A quick note to attempt to clear up some confusion for you guys: Mutant suits are mostly for looks. The power they list can only be activated when you have all four slots (suit and offensive, defensive, and utility genes) equipped with things from the same mutant. Also, the spade on the guards' uniforms should be GLARINGLY OBVIOUS. /froth /nerd

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
I want to imagine the whole bridge thing was the result of some senility on Magneto's part.
"Ha! I have the cities most important landmark in my control! I can now -oh! It's that very bro-y kid I say earlier. Now what was his name... hmmm. Oops! Looks like that car slid off and interrupted that other guys quip. Wait... I feel like I should dislike that guy in the big suit for some reason... hang on. That car fell off this bridge I'm holding. Why did I pick up bridge? Uhh... ummmm... best just put it back down then. Now, where was I-oh, everybody's gone. How rude."

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
I'm assuming here.
Gambit?
Granted, considering LRR might have played far enough, I could be way wrong. Also, he's the only character I can relate to spades.

Gambit is in the game. I believe he's the boss of Chinatown, or something like that. I don't think mentioning it would be spoiling, since, ya know, it's an X-Men game.

Re: GPLP: X-Men Destiny
Just to jump in with my thoughts on the whole SA thing.
As a hardcore lurker of the LP sub-forum; from what I read of both threads on SA, the problem you're having with them is that your intentions of doing a let's play are entirely counter to the way SA conducts itself.
The reason you posted on SA to begin with was that you wanted to draw in new viewers. That's a problem because SA absolutely hates that kind of thing. They're there to be entertained with footage of a video game. Not for what, from their perspective, appears to be a 20 minute ad for a site they have little interest in.
I'm not taking their side on this or anything, I think it's perfectly reasonable to try to get people to your site by providing quality content as a gateway, but I think that, fundamentally, you guys are just incompatible with the SA forums.
TL;DR: I think we should see other sub-forums. It's not you, it's them.
