To be fair, you're thinking of most Action-Adventures. (Or was that the joke?)

Sounds more like DCUO, minus the fetch quests. Then again, I didn't play all the way through this game.

It's awesome that there's another GPLP so soon after the end of the last. Although I guess you finished filming Dante's Inferno a long while back.

Still, it's awesome. You guys rock.
Just call me Dylan. It's easier to pronounce.

great answer!

I have to say, while your commentary is great (as always) this game looks really dull. Say what you want about Dante's inferno, you did more than just walk from one identical fight to another.

Did you film this LP in one go then deliberately stop at convenient points to say farewell, or did you suffer through sessions? It's quite different to the Venetica and Dante's Inferno LPs, not that there is anything wrong with the change.

It seems like the whole game will consist of MMO quests, just without the "massively multiplayer" or "online" aspects. I'm waiting for Magneto to ask you to collect 10 MRD pelts before you can join the Brotherhood.

We did one session resulting in several episodes, stopping roughly every 20 minutes so the cuts between episodes weren't so jarring. I think it's an improvement.

Next week we'll do another session with a bunch more episodes. Doing it this way makes it more likely we can finish a game.

It's far easier to read the in-game texts now, than it were in the Dante's Inferno LP.

I think Forge looks like a 1960's Gordon Freeman, sort of. Also I'm putting money on that Hodge dude's an evil clone of Professor-X (or Nega-X as I'm calling him) hence why he's in a mech-suit because a wheel-chair'd be too obvious.

Wouldn't he then be a mutant too? Unless he has some kind of anti-baldness powers that he was mocked for in his growth vat. It would explain why he has hair whilst Chuck does not. Anyway, a simple clone would be too normal for an Xmen storyline. Maybe he is the result of the first Xavier Institute kegger out for revengeance?

While there may not be an X-man named Bzzd there is a green lantern named Bzzd who is a fly.

A human sized fly or a fly sized fly? I know there is a green lantern the size of a planet but a fly seems a bit of an oddity. Although, even dung deserves justice.

It's fun watching Emma Frost's hair during her conversation... she really seems to be overdoing the hair gel.

Haha, your lack of knowledge of the X-Men is kind of amusing to me.

Emma Frost is American, her English accent is fake.

Pyro is Australian.

Pixie is Welsh.

Caliban was one of the ugly mutants (Morlocks) who lived in the sewer.

The Purifiers are an established group in the comics too.

I believe Paul was thinking about X-Men: Evolution when he was talking about how Nightcrawler figured out where he goes when he teleports.

I don't know about the specifics of how they figured it out in all the different X-Men continuities, but I do know that in the main comic continuity it is canonical that Nightcrawler does pass through another dimension when he teleports, and the smoke is indeed the atmosphere from that other dimension.

On a Gambit related note, the utility power of running fast does actually make sense - if you follow all the different developments of the character through the comic storylines. Short story: Gambit has the power to charge his own body with energy (not just inanimate objects), letting him do some superhuman strength and speed stuff.

Hey kids, do you know what time it is?

That's right! It's Lesser Known Mutant Guide Time!

PIXIE:
Name: Megan Gwynn
Nationality: (Supposed to be) Welsh
Affiliation: X-Men
Powers: Wings from Mutation, Hallucinogenic pixie dust, Dagger summoning and teleportation via magic.

CALIBAN:
Name: [Actually Caliban]
Nationality: Sewers Under New York
Affiliation: Morlocks, X-Force
Powers: Mutant detection, Fear absorption and amplification, Typical superhuman enhancements

FORGE:
Name: [Can't find any reference to a real name. Anyone else know?]
Nationality: Cheyenne Native American
Affiliation: X-Men, X-Factor
Powers: Intuitive understanding of mechanical devices, Sorcery

(Covered briefly in the video and not actually a mutant, but...)
CAMERON HODGE:
Name: [Actually Cameron Hodge]
Nationality: American
Affiliation: Purifiers
Powers: Immortality granted by the demon N'Astirh, Reflects psychic attacks

(Information hazily remembered from the dark recesses of my brain. Extra info obtained through X-Men wiki. Accuracy not guaranteed.)

I'll post some of these if any lesser known heroes or villains show up along the way. What constitutes "lesser known" is kinda up in the air, so if there's anyone who I leave out that you think I shouldn't, just let me know.

As an aside, does Forge remind anyone else of cH Paul?
I have changed my name like 3 times on this forum. Guess who I am!

Oh Marvel.

"immortality granted by a demon"

That's not a mutant power.
