Re: GPLP Suggestions
Well, Damnation is... interesting. It plays fine, but design is pretty horrible.
But if you do end up doing it, promise me one thing: Burn your copy afterwards. I'm on a crusade to wipe that game from the face of the Earth and it would help.
Ok, this isn't a very good sales pitch.

Oh you know what might be interesting in it's terribleness? Never-Dead.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Perhaps a Venetica revisit? You'd probably have to start again though, so I suppose that's not a great idea. I've got an old copy of an xbox360 game called "Dark Sector" that you could probably make an interesting run out of if you'd like me to send it to you free of charge.
Re: GPLP Suggestions
I think we still have Dark Sector somewhere. Did an Unskippable of it a while back.
But we have... darker plans for our next game...

Darker than a game literally titled Dark Sector? You're going with Amnesia, aren't you?
Actually, there's an idea. Try and see if you can make some horror games incredibly silly!

Re: GPLP Suggestions
I can name off a few games that could use a GPLP spin on them:
Alan Wake or Alan Wake: American Nightmare (Good games just some parts of them are goofy)
Any modern Sonic game but the one that came out in 2006 was really bad.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (Never did a Unskippable on this one so a GPLP could be fun)
Uncharted (Any)
Max Payne 3
Final Fantasy 13 (You know you want to)
Resident Evil 5/6
Id list more RPGs but im sure you dont want something super long.

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Hmmm, darker, darker...
Slender obviously springs to mind, but I sort of hope it's not that since it doesn't really lend itself to the type of commentary they usually do.
A dark point and click adventure that I'd totally watch you guys play though, is Grim Fandango.
That'd be pretty sweet
...or we can just assume that Graham is being a lot more direct and is referring simply to The Darkness.
One of the classic Unskippables drawn out to a full GPLP? Maybe with a counter for "That was the Xth time I died"?
Sign me up!
Mara.

What if Alan Turing came up with the test because he was actually a robot and wanted people to find out?

Darker... dark... Dark Souls!?
Oh, come on. It would be painful for you, but hilarious for us to watch.

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Tony Hawk's Ride, with a camera to film you guys flailing about on it's god-awful board-controller.
Like some others said, movie tie-in's tend to be pretty shoddy, but TV tie-in's exist as well such as the LOST game.

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Actually, what if they did Eternal Darkness? I would watch the hell out of that.
In the daytime. With all of the lights on.

How about Splatterhouse? Or something really good, like The Witcher 2?

Re: GPLP Suggestions
How about something from the Eschalon series? Theyre cheap and the pace of the game seems like it would fit your style for GPLP

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Came across Ninety Nine Nights in a store today, looks the suitable mix of odd, interesting and bad for a GPLP. Wikipedia says it only had 6 months dev time, so who knows what hilarious glitches made it through
combat also looks like a glorious clusterfuck

Re: GPLP Suggestions
I played N3, it's... flawed but fun? To me, anyway.
Not sure it'd suit the speed of GPLP's though, things get pretty hectic so it might not leave a huge amount of time for fun bantering.
Of course the game can't be too serene like, for example, Endless Ocean 2.
Though now that I think about it, I'd probably still watch that...
Mara.

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Okay, I'll reiterate my previous suggestion for an Unskippable: SpaceForce: Rogue Universe.
I find the gameplay itself tolerable...as long as I stay away from the utter drek of the story. I'm sure you'd have a field day with it, tho.
Down side is, it was only released on Windoz...and even offering to GIVE YOU MY COPY probably wouldn't help.
(again, you could get the free demo (and shoehorn in a WinOS compy into your recording system) to just do an Unskippable with that horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE opening cutscene! )

Re: GPLP Suggestions
Yeah...I'm gonna withdraw my suggestion of SF:RU, and instead put my support behind Yaxley's - I'm sure others are going to back it up, too...like...oh, I dunno, everyone?
(42/100 *aggregate* in an industry that typically rates on a 7-10 scale? Ouch.)

Re: GPLP Suggestions
I really like a the letsplays in the beginning for any game when you are exploring the game, but when you come to the middle and end I really feel a horrible game is funnier since there are mode funny bad stuff to say... praise is good, but it is not that funny.
If I'm half-mad, then which do you think I consider my better half?

I would love to see a let's play of Spec Ops The Line.
Re: GPLP Suggestions
I'm thinking 'Asura's Wrath' it'd be like an Unskippable/GPLP mash-up with uber weird cut-scenes
Re: GPLP Suggestions
spec ops the line would be interesting. the darkness and fable the lost chapters in that order becaust the first and second ZP reviews

If you did The Darkness, you could count the amount of times you die.
