I have to say, the Gatecrash Pre-release that I went to was more fun than I have had at a pre-release in a long time. Now, granted, part of why I had as much fun as I did was because I was given the Gruul pack put together by the Gods of Magic Bombs themselves.

Here are the noteworthy cards
2x Zhur-Taa Swine
Skarg Guildmage
the promo Rubblehulk
Sylvan Primordial
Angelic Skirmisher
Wrecking Ogre
Gruul Ragebeast
Hellkite Tyrant
Aurelia, the Warleader

Yeah, those were fun games whenever I actually drew mana.

I was honestly surprised that Gruul was the least played at my event as well. How did everybody else's release/pre-releases go?

I pulled junk at my prerelease a while back, but actually made a fairly impressive Simic deck in my opinion. I think i went 3-2 or 4-2 in the end and barely got edged out for top 8. And then I pulled more junk from the pack I got.

I did two events back to back, starting with Dimir and ending with Boros.

Dimir had a rather mediocre pool, barely having any actual cipher or grind cards besides my one Consuming Aberration. On the plus side I did pull Aurelia's Fury, which I immediately sold to the store for $15. Hooray for making back some money!

Boros was a lot better, and I actually pulled the normal Aurelia here. Never actually drew her, though. And I say it was a lot better, but really it was just that the stuff I got actually felt like I could play out Battalion and see what it was like; this is compared to my Dimir run which ended up being the most basic removal-then-try-to-hit deck ever.

I went 1-3 with both decks anyway. At least I pulled two mythics per prerelease! (Aurelia's Fury and Borborygmos from the Dimir, Aurelia and Lazav from Boros)

Oh, and two shocklands. Got another $16 from that, making the entire prerelease shenanigans cost me only $9.

1: Have you guys heard of the Unglued and Unhinged sets (collectively referred to as Un, or simply identified by their silver borders)
2: If you have, what do you think of them? If you haven't, go get familiar with the two sets because they are the most hilarious tournament-illegal cards in existence.
3: Do you think Wizards should create another set in the same vein as the Un sets?

I feel like Graham (or at least cH Graham) would like Emcee and Paul would get some use out of Charm School

I'm pretty sure they're familiar with the Un sets. :)

I personally would love another Un set. Maybe Unsane? :D

Wizards (Maro) has said many times that the problem with Un-sets is that they are well liked but they does not sell very good

I'd prefer if they did an un-set, that it'd be a side set that was fairly limited. Sort of like how they're doing Modern Masters. That way competitve magic doesn't lose a season of cards and could still play with a new un-set. Of course, I'm not sure I'd actually play either. Some of the un-cards look fun, but some of them look like they'd be more of a pain than anything.

Yeah. So I've heard. I'm pretty sure they don't sell as well because they're not tournament-legal. I'd like to see a comparison graph of sales of MtG cards that are for tournaments vs. for other uses (re-sale, fun, just collecting, etc.)
If that exists, then we could cut out the tournament section. Perhaps that would make it plainly obvious why Wizards doesn't do them.
However, still, they could plan for that and just release less amounts of them to make up for the difference. If an Un-set sells 30% to 40% as much as a normal set, just print only 30% to 40% of the volume of them as a normal set.

The problem with that is that the money they use is not in the printing of cards but in the time they spend to make them as is R&D that is why it can't be compared to Modern Masters as they don't have to make new cards for that only reprint old ones

Long time viewer first time poster.

I really enjoy your videos and your podcasts are excellent to listen to while playing Minecraft. When I heard you were naming decks in your magic podcast, I thought it would be funny to see what name you could come up with for my R/U "chaos-burn AKA I-will-screw-up-this-multiplayer-game-entirely" deck.

It's a fun deck I came up with, because I wanted to cast the big wacky spells in both blue and red, and I have won a surprising amount of games with it, despite it was never intended to win any games, only screw around with the power balance in multiplayer. It has gotten less wacky/random and more burny over time but it still feels wacky to play. The all-stars in the deck are: Erratic Explosion, Insurrection, Kaboom! and Riddle of Lightning.

Anyway, here's the decklist:

Creatures:
1x Djinn Illuminatus
2x Izzet Chronarch
1x Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs
1x Precursor Golem

Artifacts:
1x Dreamstone Hedron
2x Everflowing Chalice
1x Izzet Signet
2x Ur-Golem's Eye

Enchantments:
1x Propaganda
1x Spellweaver Volute
2x Vow of Flight
1x Vow of Lightning

Sorceries:
1x Call of the Skybreaker
1x Death by Dragons
3x Erratic Explosion
2x Insurrection
1x Kaboom!
1x Mindblaze
1x Sway of the Stars

Instants:
1x Chaos Warp
1x Electrolyze
3x Prophetic Bolt
1x Reins of Power
1x Reweave
3x Riddle of Lightning
1x Spellshift
1x Vision Skeins
2x Wild Ricochet

Lands:
1x Temple of the False God
1x Cascade Bluffs
4x Izzet Boilerworks
1x Izzet Guildgate
2x Evolving Wilds
4x Terramorphic Expanse
7x Island
8x Mountain

It should be noted that I am entirely a casual player and that this is entirely a casual deck, hence the 70 (edit:68) cards in the deck instead of 60 and lack of solid removal and counterspells, even though the colors are excellent for that.

You want some fun screwing with multiplayer? Add a Naked Singularity to that deck. Watch your opponents go full tilt from frustration. :D

Ok so heres a deck which could use a name. When it was being made, the only criteria was if the card had an awesome sounding name or title. I recognize the silliness in being able to pick cards because of their names yet not being able to name something well myself.

Creatures: 10
Korlash, Heir to Blackblade x4
Massacre Wurm x2
Barktooth Warbeard x2
Bane of the Living x2

Spells: 22
Black Sun's Zenith x4
Burn the Impure x2
Dismember x4
Bonfire of the Damned x4
Rite of Consumption x4
Barter in Blood x2
Slaught Pact x2

Enchantments: 4
Homocidal Seclusion x4

Artifacts: 2
Shadowblood Egg x2

Land: 24
Shadowblood Ridge x4
Lavaclaw Reaches x2
Blood Crypt x4
Swamp x14

Sideboard:
Thundermaw Hellkite x2
Gravelgill Axeshark x2
Augur of Skulls x2
Din of the Fireherd
Flayer of the Hatebound x2
Skinrender x4
Massacre Wurm x2

Finally, after too long, here are my decks that I'd like named:

The first is this:

3 Cavern of Souls
3 Rootbound Crag
4 Temple Garden
3 Sunpetal Grove
2 Gavony Township
1 Stomping Ground
3 Clifftop Retreat
3 Forest

22 Lands

3 Silverblade Paladin
3 Somberwald Sage
3 Sigarda, Host of Herons
4 Huntmaster of the Fells // Ravager of the Fells
3 Aurelia, the Warleader
3 Wolfir Silverheart
3 Restoration Angel
2 Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
3 Angelic Skirmisher
4 Avacyn's Pilgrim
2 Angel of Serenity

33 Creatures

3 Domri Rade
2 Akroma's Memorial
5 Other Spells

Sideboard
2 Rest in Peace
4 Immerwolf
4 Mayor of Avabruck // Howlpack Alpha
4 Scorned Villager // Moonscarred Werewolf
1 Garruk Relentless // Garruk, the Veil-Cursed

Here's a more visual look. This is the same deck, but when I need to face more aggro decks. The main goal is to get out big creatures as fast as possible. Use Domri to get more creatures into hand or as removal, Akroma's to make my army next to invincible, and ramp creatures to bring out big stompy things. Most of the other creatures are just meant to punch things. Silverblade/Silverheart combo, Gisela to just destroy my opponent, Skrimisher to serve whatever role I need. The base for this was intended to be wolves and angels, but now it's wolves, humans, and angels.

When I need to face down red or R/B decks that can easily outrace me, I switch to the secondary mode. Switching out all the angels for wolves and werewolves to make the deck much faster in nature. I haven't been able to test this mode out yet.

That's my main deck. My secondary deck is this one:

4 Isolated Chapel
2 Forest
2 Plains
1 Swamp
2 Vault of the Archangel
4 Sunpetal Grove
2 Overgrown Tomb
1 Woodland Cemetery
4 Temple Garden
2 Cavern of Souls

24 Lands

3 Rhox Faithmender
4 Champion of Lambholt
3 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
3 Geist-Honored Monk
3 Angelic Skirmisher

16 Creatures

3 Parallel Lives
4 Lingering Souls
2 Ajani, Caller of the Pride
3 Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
2 Collective Blessing
2 Cathars' Crusade
4 Farseek

20 Other Spells

Sideboard
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Aerial Predation
3 Sundering Growth
4 Young Wolf

Visual Form Here. The deck is Token/Lifegain based entirely around the fact that I pulled an Ajani during a M13 prerelease. The win conditions are to either make my life total so high that my opponent can't really stop me from pulling big stuff, flood the board with tokens (hopefully with pump from Cathars' Crusade and Collective Blessing), or use tokens to make Champion of Lambholt giant.

So those are my decks. Both are pretty good I think. Sorry for ranting a bit as well.
