Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - Q&A
Edit: Oh poo. AGAIN.
GTC limited has been fine for me. I've enjoyed draft a lot more than sealed and Boros has been a winner in my books. The most trouble I've had is setting up a good Orzhov deck.
Also, what was the rare in the Crack-a-Pack of the Dark?

Dominia is the old term for the magic Multiverse, Dominaria is a plane in the multiverse
Also someone Musically talented (not me I can't carry a tune in a bucket) needs to do a full re-write of Wreck me maybe!

Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - GTC Limited
Dominia is the original term for the entire Multiverse of MTG. It has since been dropped due to confusion with Dominaria, A plane of existance within Dominia, and the primary plane of existance where a large amount of the magic history took place. In recent years, Wizards has chosen not to return us to Dominaria(since time spiral) due to the massive convolution and complexity of the timeline they've created. we basically left off with Dominaria going armagedon in like 4 different ways between the sliver infestation and karn sayin peace out and such. This is the longest stretch of expansions NOT taking place on Dominaria with 7 story expansion blocks without visiting Dominaria.
Just thought you'd like a little history in case this comes up again!

Wow, my silly little deck actually got chosen. Thanks for naming it. I think Woodchipper of Redemption is an awesome name for it.

Thanks for the Shout-out, guys. Yes, Kathleen, York Peppermint Patties are totally awesome. I included them (and the chocolate bar) to make up space in the padded envelope. Then I found a size 0 envelope for the next batch of cards.
To be fair, E-bay does sell earlier packs of cards than Dark, but Legends is like $50 a pack or so, Antiquities is about $100 a pack and I saw one pack of Arabian Nights that was going for $970. Now someone is selling just the booster pack packaging for $15. Oh, you silly seller, you!
But if someone who is richer than I am (far, far richer!) wants to go for buying one/some of them, I bid you good luck!

Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - GTC Limited
I just built this commander deck (from cards I bought from Card Kingdom!), but I can't think of a good name for it.
So I was looking at a list of all the sphinxes in Magic, and realized that there were only 25 of them, and decided that I should make a Commander deck that just uses every one. (Yes, including Sphinx of the Chimes, whose ability is entirely unusable). So far, the way it wins games is by confounding my opponents with sphinx abilities while I build a critical mass of sphinxes to crush them.

Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - GTC Limited
I did well in GTC limited early on but that's been dropping off for me lately. I definitely feel like the format is somewhat in flux with control and mid range decks rising in power.
I can see the appeal of looking forward to non dual colored limited formats though

I 100% agree about being shoehorned in RTR, all you really do is pick your guild in your first few cards (or first card depending on the rare you open). My other complaint about GTC is the same one I had about RTR which is the wildly varying power levels of the guilds, seems like getting the nuts Boros deck is an instant win and getting the nuts of any other deck just puts you on par with a fairly average Boros deck
Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - GTC Limited
Congratulations, Eagi, on winning the art challenge!
That "create a card" challenge was fun. I think it would be neat if it became a monthly recurring event.
Have anyone on the Loadingreadyrun crew or anyone on the forums tried putting together a MtG LRR expansion set?

I have made part of a few espansions a few years apart i never finished them as I lose focus or doesn't have the time.
But is anyone is going to make one i have a few surgestions:
Read a few of Rosewaters articles on set design on DMTG especially his nuts and bolts articles as they explain the basic design of a set.
MTGSalvation has a list of other peoples set
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=15716
Magic set Editor is a great program for this
http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/
Take breaks, maybe go for a walk to clear your head and have a small notepad or use your phone you never knows when inspiration strikes

Thanks for rewarding my illustration for the Woodfink challenge. Nice to be appreciated! I agree with Lysander it would be wonderful to make this a reoccurring feature in tap tap concede.

GTC Limited isn't going very well for me...but then Limited never does.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

I agree on making the card design a regular thing, would be great to see some of the ideas we can come up with.

Re: TapTapConcede Ep03 - GTC Limited
Guys, here's my five Dragon's Maze combos:
Dizzet (U/B/R) [Type: Control by Agro)
Utilizing Izzet's board-altering Overload effects, it's easier to send in Dimir's Encoded creatures. This sort of Tempo/Incidental Mill will keep high pressure while keeping most of your opponent's options in their hand/graveyard.
Rakduul (B/R/G) [Type: "Giant Swing" Agro]
Keep your opponent in total defense by Unleashing creature after creature, and when their blockers say no, Bloodrush will help you carry damage into their wall and into your opponent.
Selesnyzhov (W/G/B) [Type: Stonewall Control]
Refuse to give your opponents any quarter by building a self-healing wall with populate. While your tokens bear the brunt of your opponent's wrath, you can happily chip away at their health from the comfort of your own side of the board with extort.
Azoros (W/U/R) [Type: "As above, so it is below" Agro]
Using their cheap, quicker creatures to dominate both air and ground, you can put the odds further in your favour by arresting your opponent's defenders so you can rally your battalion without the risk of taking one or two casualties.
Simgari (U/B/G) [Type: Sustained-Growth agro]
Your team's always getting stronger when you're evolving in the early game. But, when everyone's as powerful as they're going to get, they can scavenge those early casualties and never stop getting bigger!
Tell me what you guys think, and reply with any of your own combos.
