Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
I enjoyed the pack of Pokemon cards. I think you guys actually should crack a pack of Kaijudo at some point, if only because it is ALSO done by Wizards of the Coast. Then again, that is literally the extent of my knowledge about the game.

According to TCGPlayer, False Defeat is worth $25, so that's cool. Not sure about Japanese version though.

Japanese version seems to be worth more like $10 on ebay because more of P3K was printed in Chinese/Japanese than in English. Still a money card though!
Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
I really wish Magic cards were named based on their art descriptions after hearing you describe some of those P3K cards.

Ok sorry Kathleen, I'm going to be "that guy" and inform you that your pronunciation of Reikai was completely off. Graham's pronunciation was correct. Once again sorry for that to be my comment but yeaaaa. Everything else you said in Japanese was alright though.

Graham: "Oh, sick! Speaking of cards in Commander decks...this last one is the card that i run in my, 'The Forest Itself' treefolk deck!"
So, uh, back in May 19, 2013, I asked about maybe getting a decklist for this infamous Treefolk EDH we keep hearing about, Graham replied with this...
Hums very, very politely. And then very, very politely, repeats the request? Graham, it's just...you keep subtly mentioning it...and I am sooooooo curious. Must see. Please share. Pleaseeeee.
P.S.
If this was somehow posted and I missed it, then color me embarrassed...but do point me in the right direction.
P.P.S.
So good to get another TTC! Always a pleasure to watch you guys crack packs and then get underwhelmed by the contents. Seriously, has there been a god-pack yet? I think that Ink-Eyes is the most valuable card you've cracked in the whole series.

I was thinking of that, as I said it.

Man, I was really wishing you pulled an Imperial Seal from that P3K pack. As it has been said False Defeat is worth some cash.
Also, nice pull with the Ink-Eyes, I recently bought 2 BoK packs and got Fumiko the Lowblood and Hokori, Dust Drinker.

Hokori is great for that new format "Commander with people you hate".

Did my packs getting cracked get filmed? I would be curious to see your reactions.

You can manually search Gatherer by set and collector number to make it easier.

Fumiko is ridiculously effective in my Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs commander deck.

Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
Ah, the memories.
I used to play Magic back in the mid-90's with friends. We stopped when we realised that every release introduced new rules, which effectively ramped up the power level of new cards. (E.g. I gave up when the "flanking" rule was introduced - all the previous releases obviously couldn't have this ability.)
Some of those cards you're rubbishing were pretty good back in the day, before the power ramping. :-p

Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
I think everyone who played back in the day realizes that while the card backs are the same and the basic format of Creatures, land, enchantments, instants and sorceries is the same the game itself bears very little resemblance to what it used to be. For example, the meta game in my area was that creatures could kill your opponent but the were mostly just board stall until you could cast your really cool spells. iE 'if I attack here with all three of my creatures, he blocks with two of his, and 4 die and then I take him to 18 life, OR I could keep all three of my creatures and cast this Drain Life for 8.

Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
There are only 3 gold cards in the Dark. You guys got all of them in one pack. That's pretty funny.

Re: TTC - Crack a PAX
I think back in the day building packs as more of the guys at the printing warehouse would cut all the cards into a bin, then grab the appropriate number, not necessarily print runs or even all different cards.

I loved this TTC, watching you guys crack packs is probably the best bit of TTC, though I think that's probably the banter between you guys more than the actual cards thouhg.

Speaking as the guy who bartered that P3K pack to you, I'm kind of relieved that you didn't hit Imperial Recruiter It was still a blast to trade with you, and a ton of fun to watch packs getting cracked!
