First forum post!

So I'd just like to throw my hat in the ring with a Tim Horton Planeswalker Design based loosely on Elspeth Knight-Errant.

My little throw back to Cascade. I feel like the unknowing excitement of rolling up the rim, is exactly like a roulette game of chance that is Cascade.

Roll up the rim 1UB

sorcery

exile any number of cards from the top of your library face down, then flip that many coins. If you win all the flips, put the exiled cards into your hand- if you lose a flip, put the exiled cards into your graveyard.

"I'll take two large double doubles and 10 timbits."

Tim Horton, Coffeesmith 2WBR

planeswalker- Tim Horton

+1: Target creature gains deathtouch and vigilance until end of turn.

+2: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature, it gains haste.

-9: You get an emblem with "creatures you control get +1/+1 and have vigilance, haste, and deathtouch"

Roll up the Rim - R
Instant
Reveal the top card of your library. Flip a number of coins equal to the revealed card's converted mana cost. For each flip you win, draw a card.

Buyback - R

Roll Up the Rim - 2UR
Instant
Look at the top card of your library. If it’s a non-land card, reveal it, put it in your hand and repeat this process. If you reveal a card named Roll Up the Rim, place a 5/5 colourless Car creature token with Haste onto the battlefield.
Some people have all the luck

Image

Blue for card draw, Red for randomness. (Also it's a hot liquid)

Sometimes, you don't win anything
Sometimes you win a coffee, which you then use to play again
Very rarely, someone gets a car!
And of course, no matter what, when you win you HAVE to show all your friends -_^

Hey guys, just joined the forum stuff.

Here are my ideas for some Tim Hortons themed cards.

Image Image

This first one seemed pretty straightforward. It wasn't part of the design challenge, but I like it.

Image Image

And here we have the Tim Meister and Roll Up the Rim. I made Tim white as well as red, since white likes a lot of small guys, and a lot of small guys can drink a lot of coffee.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Have a smashing day.

roll up the rim UB instant

as an additional cost to cast roll up the rim tap an untaped creature you control

flip a coin if tails place a 0/1 artifact creature token called empty cup onto the battle field.

if heads roll a roll a d20 if you get a 1-10 draw a card 11-15 draw 2 cards, 16-19 draw two cards and target opponent discards two cards, 20 search you library for up to 3 cards and shuffle your library afterwards.

I signed up to the forum just to do this.

Image

I'm pretty sure I haven't templated this one right, but whatever. The reason for the two abilities on the card is that the promotion has a bunch of different prizes, but the better ones are rarer, so you have to buy more coffee to have a chance at them. Also, any player can get in on it, because it's a promotion, and it's open to anyone.

Image

Tim's +1 plays on brand loyalty - the more loyalty the brand has, the more people are drinking the coffee, hence more untaps. Running the promotion is a 0 ability because it doesn't really cost the company much to do so compared to the amount of coffee sold because of it. The emblem just causes caffiene addiction, so your creatures are jittery (haste, double strike), aggressive (double strike, trample) and don't sleep ever (vigilance). I considered +x/+x buffs, but I think the abilities fit the flavour more.

Probably that or they were filming something. I could easily see them being like that for a Crapshot.
