I could imagine no better creature type as a boss monster

Dativus, the Spreadsheets Torn

14 - Legendary Creature - Exceldrazi
11/10

When you cast Dativus, The Spreadsheets Torn, you may arrange your library in any order.

Hexproof, Annihilator 3

When Dativus is put into a graveyard from anywhere or leaves the battlefield, its owner shuffles Dativus and his or her graveyard into his or her library.

When there is nothing, there will be order.

Image

Design notes:

Did you know there were no 14 cost creatures? No longer!

I wanted his body to be impressive but not quite as tough as the other legendary eldrazi, so he's tied with Ulamog for lowest toughness and has the lowest Annihilator number.

What does excel do? It organizes things. Dativus organizes your library. Perfectly. Only the otherworldly powers of the Eldrazi can create such unnatural order.

I slightly modified the standard graveyard shuffle effect to also trigger if he leaves the battlefield. Dativus' power is what is keeping your library ordered, if he leaves, that power goes with him.

Finally I made him Hexproof because god damn it he's a BOSS. Bosses don't die to Doomblade.

First post on the forums, I figured I would try to make an Excel Final Boss.
Image

I wanted to work in the requisite shirtlessness somehow and figured that it was the only way to destroy it. The 26 mana cost is to represent the letters of the alphabet since that's how the columns (I might be wrong and it's the rows) are initially ordered and marked with. Hope you like it.

While not technically Excel he is annoying enough to be a final boss.

Trample
Flying
Graft 8 (This creature comes into play with eight +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever another creature comes into play, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this creature onto it.)
{8}{t}remove a number of +1/+1 counters from a creature you control put a the same number of -1/-1 counters on a creature your opponent controls

my insperation was using various numbers and stuff from the video to create the card

Was going to go with Clippy as the boss but decided to go with an even greater evil while still having Clippy's annoyances as a subtheme.

Re: weapon's of the gods

If my memory serves me correctly, Mark Rosewater has said the minor gods didn't get weapons because they'd have to commit 5 slots for it at rare, which is a lot for a small set (plus that's 5 multicolour rares).

Once they mentioned the idea of it being a god card, I couldn't not make this one. I realize the effect isn't immediately game changing, but working with other pro-colour effects could get goofy, plus I wanted it to function like editing cells in some way. It's not like these will ever have to be played anyways. =P

I was thinking about the fact that Excell is Green and white and one of the features is to copy cells and patterns. This made me design a token spam final boss and I reckon that this would be difficult to deal with but not unbeatable PS it is a 0/0 for some reason it didn't come out on the card.
Edit: fixed the P/T not showing up don't think it broke the card too much

Magic Set Creator is on the fritz so here is just the text mock up of what the Excel final boss would be. I wanted to combine a strong mathematics component and a variable size, two key features of Excel. Naturally he can grow to any size imaginable and his activated abilities use the power of algorithms to turn your current hand and graveyard into more cards.

Excel-sior 2/W 2/U 2/B 2/R 2/G
Legendary Artifact Creature — Spreadsheet Construct :mythic (obviously):

Hexproof

Excel’s power is equal to the amount of columns of any spreadsheet in play and it’s toughness is equal to the amount of rows in that same spreadsheet.

5, exile your hand and all cards in your graveyard: Draw cards equal to half the number of cards exiled this way. You have no maximum hand size until the end of your next turn.

When describing his awesome power, none could fail to state that at destruction...he excelled.

Excel of the endless torment

Casts for 13 colourless

Legendary Artifact Creature- Numerical Construct

Cannot be countered. Indestructible. Shroud. Protection from all colours.

Loop 1 (Take another turn after your turn until you get interrupted)

At the beginning of a player's upkeep, all players must shuffle their hand, graveyard and library together.
Exile top X cards (where X is the amount of cards that was in the graveyard) until the end of their turn; these cards are then return sent to the graveyard.
Then draw X cards (where X is the amount of cards they had in hand).

"Sometimes things just don't work the way you want it to." - Some guy
"Some things just cannot be fixed." - Some other guy

0/36

I'm not 100% sure how to word the loop mechanic....essentially you just keep taking turns until someone does something whilst its your turn. e.g. when your spell gets countered, or they cast a flash creature etc you pass the turn.

Originally it was going to only target your opponents.....but I figured...excel shows no mercy.
NO ONE CAN HAVE FUN.

I was going to design an Excel creature that organized cards, but this one is already so perfect there's no point. You win.

So many good ones already! :D Went with a completely bonkers approach to this card attempting to make this card as incomprehensible as possible. Short of writing it in Japanese here is what I came up with:

If I had any space for flavour text it would have read: "User friendliness is a relative term." Sweet artwork is by Cocon on deviantart.com.

Okay, so I went with the mental grinding and just sheer agony that long hours in front of an excel spreadsheet would cause. I think I had fun.

I went with a number manipulation theme for the Final Boss of Excel. I'm pretty sure this, like most of these cards, is super busted.

Why not indestructable as opposed to hexproof?

Don't know how to do the MtG card thing, hope sempai still notices me.
Excel’s Final Boss MTG card:

Simonyi, the Prophet of X’el 2PU

Creature – Human Cleric

Defender

Whenever this creature transforms into Simonyi, the Prophet of X’el or comes into play put 4 Development counters on him.

At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a Development counter from Simonyi, the Prophet of X’el. If there are no Development counters to remove, transform Simonyi.

X: Look at the top X cards of target player’s library and put them back in any order.
0/4

“Out of Multiplane, It comes.” –Simonyi, the Prophet of X’el

X’el, God of Computational Law

Legendary Artifact Creature – Construct God

Indestructible

Whenever this creature transforms into X’el, God of Computational, law put a number of Column counters on them equal to the number of unique creature types in play – 1 and a number of Row counters on them equal to the number of unique basic land types in play.

X’el gets +X/+X where X is the number of Column and Row counters on X’el.

Remove a Column counter from X’el: Choose a creature type. Exile all creatures of that type.

Remove a Row counter from X’el: Choose a mana color of one of the basic land types in play. Creatures you control gain protection from that color until the end of turn.

X’el, God of Statistical Law transforms if there are no more Column and Row counters on it.
1/1

Even Salas came back, whispering in a half-mad tone “My pivot tables were as nothing compared to its computational power…”

Well, first things first:
Image
(Not a creature, but this time it's a runner card).

My graphics software crashed on me during the art process for the Magic card, so I'll turn in the helf-done version with only the background done:
Image

Gets an update when I get to it, with the actual character in...

So let's just look at another card:

There must be something we can do to stop it. . .

I kind of wanted this to have as much of a video game feel as possible. You know you just about beat the game and then it comes down to the final boss.
