It's sweet art, and speaking of sweet art: Has anyone spotted this yet?

And there's a creepy doll that always follows you
It's got a ruined eye that's always open
Coin flips? Am I wrong or is that one of the original MTG mechanics when it first came out?

I've got a deck concept that I'd like some comments on.
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/titans-what-titans/
I don't expect it to work at all.

My uncle gave me a bunch of cards today. Not just Magic but Pokemon and Star Trek cards as well. The Magic cards are a pretty good mixture of everything from the first gen. Did I mention he used to own a card shop? I will keep you guys informed as I go through these cards.
Witty and humorous signature here.

So, Graham mentioned that he and James, Paul, Matt and Alex had drafted up some rules for a Jesus card on Twitter. And then he tweeted them. Because I was bored, and already had Magic Set Editor running, I decided to go ahead with making it.
Gentlemen, BEHOLD!
Needless to say, he's incredibly broken.
Now, shall I work on a full set? I mean, I have the symbol ready to go, and it'd be such a shame to let it go to waste...

I don't quite get where the merfolk come from. Are they supposed to be equivalent to fish?

I believe that's where they were coming from. Feeding of the five thousand and all that.

Should he also be a deity? Given that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all the same entity?

Merfolk are referred to casually as "fish" in Magic parlance. That's the joke, yes.

Mechanically and flavourfully speaking, Jesus could have been a Transform card. One side would be the plain, just-a-few-miracles carpenter's son, and the other side would be Jesus Reborn with the hand-holes and the zombie thing going on.
Also, standing by for Moses!

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
So, Moses:
2B 2W.
2/2
Sac a land, all creatures you control get islandwalk
Sac a land, destroy all creatures without islandwalk.
When moses comes into play, all creatures controlled by someone other than their owner return to their owner's control.
Exile Moses with two time counters on him. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. If Moses has no time counters, return him to the battle field under your control.
When Moses returns to play, search your library for card named "ten commandments" and put it onto the battlefield you control. Tap all creatures you control.

Oh man. That is a lot of text.
Like, a lot of text. I think you should consider cutting some of that.

Matt did that up while we were buying ice cream, we can re-word it.
Also, we've changed to"any Commandment card" as we're going to have each one be its own card. Trust us on this, we're brainstorming now.

Oh god. Oh good god.
I'll be back tomorrow to do all the card art.
I mean, sure, someone else could do it, but this is an opportunity I simply can't pass up.

You going to include the ten plagues in that? Looks like that might cause a lot of fun on the opponent
Actually I just remembered something: Are you aware of this?

I understand it from a flavor perspective, but wouldn't defender make islandwalk kind of useless?

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
Are we going to get the first edition Ten Commandments, as in the Exodus expansion, or the second edition commandments as in the Deuteronomy expansion?
Edit: Also, which format will the Ten Commandment cards work best in: Talmudic, Anglican, Orthodox or Roman Catholic?

...I thought the same thing.
Also I think making jesus a transform card would be so much more awesome.
Like, keep the holy ghost stats the same, but it isn't known for healing, islandwalking, or fish.
So you can go
"When Jesus dies (which is a word, remember), return Jesus to the battlefield and transform it"
Also, Persist doesn't work when fighting wither or infect, and that's just silly for jesusness.
Return to “Magic: The Gathering”
