Ok so this weeks FNM was amazing fun, had enough drinks to be without a doubt not sober at a UNI thing before hand.
Then pack one pick one cracked a Foil Hallowed Fountain, that card alone made my night but I then went 2-0 in all my games using a deck that someone named Splatter Flight. Pursuit of Flight on a splatter thug is scary as fuck. 5/5 with first strike on Turn 4 with flying is crazy fun.
So all in all Drunk Drafting was a good choice

So my Rakdos deck should do the best agienst it.

You always hate draft Jace, If you don't want to make a mill deck for standard some one will want one for their one and that's a phat stack of cash in trades right there.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
For the first time ever, I got to FNM and was turned away. This pissed me off since I'd drove a good 40 minutes to get there only to get turned down. But it wasn't their fault. They were very busy. Still annoyed me.
...and I still ended up staying there for 2 1/2 hours. Did a lot of trading.
All in all a good night. It was hard, but I turned down a trade where I could get a Jace, Architect for the Trostani, Garruk, and a couple Dragonskull Summit. I knew that I wouldn't use the Jace and would have just sold it, while the Trostani and Garruk I will use.
I'm curious though. How do you guys feel about net-decking?

No idea how the FNM you go to works out over here its a sign up thing so no one gets turned down, fills up by about Tuesday at best.
Net-Decking wise I am not a fan of it, playing a strong deck archetype I have no problem with though. A good player with an Average deck should outlast a bad player with a good deck.

Traded one of my Tamiyos, one of my Ajani's, and another card for a Huntmaster, Garruk Relentless, and a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad (the guy I was trading with knew he was losing a bit in the trade, but knows me and was the one to suggest it).
Didnt you just trade away a huntmaster?

It's the first time I've ever seen them run out of space like this. Apparently they were full up last week, but I went to a different place last week instead. It's possible to sign up early. But it's not something I've ever seen the need to do.
I'm glad they're getting more people. It just means I'm going to have to either sign up early or get there earlier.

I had two that I sold. Wasn't getting enough out of them for the ~$18 I could get selling them I felt, especially given my recent need for money. But given I just added in a playset of farseeks to my main deck, I've felt that having more four drops would be a good idea. It seems better to farseek into a four-drop turn three then to farseek and just play a three-drop anyways. Currently have three resto angels and a pair of Angel of Jubilations to fill that four-drop spot, but I feel a couple huntmasters and a Garruk Relentless would be good as well.
So in essence I have no idea what I'm doing.

So, a while ago someone asked about that awesome land station thing that I think Paul mentioned when he was doing is "Ask a Paul" thing.
I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but I saw that the Gamescape in San Francisco has some for sale, if anyone is interested. They're really practical and look really nice, I definitely recommend them.

For some reason I really want to make a red/blue deck work, and I'm a fan of talrand so I've been trying to put this deck together.
4X Talrand, Sky Summoner
4X Delver of Secrets
4X searing spear
4X Sleep
4X Think Twice
4X Mizzium Mortars
4X Unsummon
4X divination
4X Talrand's Invocation
12X mountains
12X Islands
definitely need input cause I really don't know what I'm doing.

I was playing a game of THG, I had a traditional mill deck with a couple Trepanation Blades, a couple of Dreadwaters, a couple and 4 Mind Sculptand a Jace, Memory Adept with controly support.
My teammate had 4 Undead Alchemist, 4 clones, and 4 Cackling Counterpart.
My opponent was running a 100 card deck. His opponent was running a 160 card deck. Each of them was running and cast at least one a Elixir of Immortality, we milled a total of 532 cards before getting in enough damage for the kill.

be really really freaked out by how often I had a centaurs butt pressed to my face, while I sit hidden in the deck only to get flashes of light during the shuffle only to get a lightning bolt pressed down on me.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Depends on which one, and which deck. My main deck? No matter what I'm becoming a powerful angel. Avacyn, Sigarda, or Gisela... the gender change would be odd, but it'd be worth it to be able to kick all the ass. My lifegain token deck? I'd become Trostani. And that'd be really weird. But I'd get to lead a fairly giant force as well. If you included Planeswalkers I'd be either her, Ajani, Sorin, or Vraska. I wouldn't mind being any but Vraska. I'd rather not turn everyone to stone thanks.
Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
There is no legendaries in my modern or standard decks. So if you take my legacy deck it would be Krenko and if you take my vintage deck it would be Karn, The Silver Golem(original)

Hmm... evidently in standard this necessarily means I get to be Trostani... so I guess I'd need to make friends with a powerful creature token and then proceed to make MORE friends!

My LGS does "backdrafts" where you turn in all the cards you drafted after it's over, and everyone gets to pick a rare from the card pool in order of how well they did in their matches (uncommons and commons are divided into equal random piles so you're still taking home the equivalent of 3 packs, but you got to choose the rares in those packs). It encourages people to draft good decks instead of just taking money cards. Even if I'd hate-drafted Jace, I wouldn't have gotten to keep him at the end since I would have come in last place regardless.

Sounds close to what I'd do. As Avacyn, I'd probably fly around, fight darkness, help the helpless, all that lawful good white mana stuff.
If we are counting Planeswalkers, being Chandra might give me a good chance to engage my pyro side. XD
