I'm just assuming Olivia has an epic wardrobe, so that would keep me occupied for at least a month.

At worst you could just talk to yourself. :P

Plus I suppose I'd have to learn to like trees, being a Dryad and all.

The only legendary creature currently in my deck is Mikaeus the Unhallowed... I don't much think I'd enjoy dying and being reanimated just so some black-aligned bitch could talk to me for a few minutes. If I had to deal with Lili I'd rather be Garruk, because then at least I'd have a bunch of badass animal friends...

Neither of my main decks use legendary creatures, but my old favourite ninja deck uses Higure, the Still Wind and Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni. One of those would be a genderswap for me, and a rat-person, but it would be pretty cool to stab people and steal critters from their graveyards. Higure meanwhile is more or less the ultimate in thievery, so he'd be pretty neat too.

On podcast 28 LRR got a mention regarding the community cup. It's at about 49 min.
I just found it neat that all these little internet communities keep mixing, and I wanted to share.

Found this oddity at Target today. I haven't opened it yet, but it's an unmarked plastic box containing what appears to be half of an 8th(?) edition learner's deck, the New Phyrexia intro pack Artful Destruction, a tournament pack of Shadowmoor, and an Avacyn Restored land bundle. Going to go ahead and guess that this is not official WotC packaging.

The "Do not shuffle - gold player's deck" sounds like half of that learn to play Magic set Graham was talking about at their PAX panel, that he and Jeremy try playing on the It's Magic DVD extras.

Maybe I should go back to Target and see if I can get the other deck.

So, here's my altered deck: http://www.mtgdeckbuilder.net/Decks/ViewDeck/337916

The only thing I'm iffy on is Garruk and Huntmasters. I replaced three Avacyn's Pilgrims with them. I'm trying to stick around 60 in this case though.

Next time you 3 for 1 someone with Flames of the Firebrand, you need to slam that sticker down on the table. EXTREME VALUE!

I played my red green wolf/werewolf deck against a white life gain. I had three life, my opponent had 78 life and swung with 5 creatures against my 3 unflipped werewolfs he said "good game" I blocked cast Moonmist, ate three of his dudes, including a fiend hunter who had a transformed Howlpack alpha in exile. Next turn I cast a timberpack wolf and a Volcanic Geyser on his angel.

in three turns I had the game I swung for 36 damage in the last hit.

I dont care about winning or losing normally but when someone GG's when you have a bunch of options then turn it around I love it. I had 2 mountains, 3 forests and a rootbound crag all open. Thats a lot of potential tricks.

Tis a poor player who counts his opponent out when he has untapped mana and cards in hand, to be sure

oh man, on the cusp of a perfect tourney, I made a Selesnya humans super aggro deck from some stuff i got in drafts and some stuff I had to trade for/buy. its all champions and pilgrims and only 3 cards with a higher cmc than 3. so far i'm 3-0, but in every game i've gone 2-1. I usually wind up winning fast the first game, then having no idea what they're playing, and not being able to sideboard, then either getting creature starved or mana starved the second game or something, then winning the 3rd very slowly.

just went against RGB burn, kept putting out new guys faster than he could kill them, 6 creatures dead, and ended the game with a 2/2 champion with rancor. But the really annoying match was against azorius control, I had a cavern, so he couldn't counter my humans, but I only have one dryad militant, so he was just snapcastering and bouncing/charming my entire board everytime i attacked. almost ran me out of time.
still, at least 2 boosters and 1 QP,

Index has significantly improved the effectiveness of Gutterbrain, I might even add in the occasional miracle and see if I can fit another couple of copies of them in to smooth things out more.

Index does seem like it would be a very efficient method for making miracles. Pretty efficient for 1 mana, especially if you have a good memory

That's not extreme value. In modern my friend once cascading a blood braid elf into electrolyze to kill two x/1 creatures and draw a card, putting two counters on his quirion dryad

Last weekend I had Arcane Melee and a Djinn Illuminatus out, a cast divination 7 times... with Niv-Mizzet out. Draw 14 cards, do 14 damage to whatever I want. If that's not extreme value, I don't think anything is.

Hmm I think I'm going to have to build a blue/red traitor/flicker deck... sure it'll be a weak combo deck... but it sounds like so much fun!

I personally like the combo with Deadeye Navigator, Gilded Lotus, and Zealous Conscripts. Steal your own Lotus, tap it for mana, bounce the Conscripts once it's bonded with Navigator, steal lotus, build up mana, steal all your opponents stuff.
