I like my massive ramp into moonsilver spears. with back up from burn but it doesnt work anymore because most of the ramp and half the good burn was in m12.

I could get it out and swinging in turn 4.

T1 forest,Llanowar Elves
T2 forest crag or mountain, Elvish Archdruid
T3 forest crag or mountain Rampant growth Llanowar Elves
T4 Seraph Sanctuary Moonsilver spear Lightning Mauler

Would anyone like to participate in a MtGO standard tournament?

something to the effect of sign up, sunday I post the pairings, through out the week you schedule and play best of three?

the next sunday I post the results and the next pairings?

overall winner gets... I dont know 10 bump in the nights or somekinda prize we could establish like a 1 pack buy in split depending on how many people play.

I'll participate in a LRR MtGO event - just don't expect me to do well. (Dependent on me being able to recover my computer from its current bricked status by Sunday)

I might be interested. It'd be really nice if we could get a group draft or something going, but otherwise I'd say standard would be best. For the first one it might be best to just have it as a free thing, or a small prize. Mostly because some people (me) don't have very good decks.

For those of us with a random assortment of cards... maybe Pauper would be a better format?

Also yay 2/1 in ravnica swiss going Selesgari

The problem with a draft is that we have such varied schedules.

It would be easiest to do that as either a part of the thursday draft or plan it right after maybe.

the thing I like about constructed is you and your opponent could plan out when you could play at any time during a week rather than try to find 8, really 12 because a few people wont show up, with the same schedule.

Ill start a thread.

1/2 in my first paper draft. Might have even been 2/1 save for a mana screw in round 3. -_- Oh well came out of it with a shockland and Isperia and a couple cards I wanted for a Standard deck I'm considering.

I need a deck of these bad boys

Pack Rat is such a limited bomb it's kind of ridiculous. "This Card's power is equal to the number of this card on the field. All cards in your hand can be played as copies of this card at instant speed for super cheap mana"

Yeesh.

Fun exercise: Take your next draft deck, draw your 7. And ask yourself: "Are there any cards in this hand that I wouldn't prefer just said '2B: Pack Rat'"? Usually, the answer is "no".

Pretty much. The only other card you ever want is like a drainpipe vermin to put down on turn 1 for the extra rat power boost. After that, swamp packrat swamp packrat swamp packrat etc etc.

In other news: HOLIDAY CUBE TIMES!

Whee. Playing around with a Jite is fun

*edit*

Holy COW that was the closest most crazy win I've ever pulled off.

Playing Golgari colors in the cube. I've got a couple of 1/1 ramp green guys, a Nezumi Shortfang (not flipped) and a Stillmoon Cavalier

Opponent has... Mirran Crusader (Protection from black AND green). Needless to say I get beaten down harshly until I'm at 4 life and he's at 8.

I end up having just enough mana on board to use the Nezumi Shortfang's ability to make him discard his last card and flip the shortfang, and then pump the Cavalier to do 5 damage. On his upkeep he goes exactly to zero for the flipped shortfang's "damage equal to cards less than 3 in hand" ability.

It was awesome.

Of course I got completely annihilated game 2 to an izzet deck, or rather, to a Plated Geopede that he never missed a land drop for in both games and I never drew any of my removal against -_-

RTR draft:

Game1:
Oh crap it's a Pack Rat
Holy crap I just beat Pack Rat! (Thank you Skymark Roc)

Game2:
Oh crap it's a Pack Rat
Yep. Dead.

Game3:
Oh crap it's a Pack Rat
Holy crap I just beat Pack Rat! (Thank you Trostani's Judgement)
*opponent drops foil Collective Blessing* Well fuck me.

Congratulations to Phlip for qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix! (I understand he's not going.) Still, his green/black/red deck was brutal and fast, and obliterated my Azorius deck 2-1 for the win. Wall plaid, Phlip!

Also, this is how my Selesnya deck now rolls.

Ok, is it just me or does Seller of Songbirds look like he's played by Johney Depp?
