Woo, just played my first draft today. There was only the two of us, and I lost 1-3 (and that one win was mostly due to supreme bad luck on the other guy's side), but it was still a bunch of fun. I'm sure I'll do it again sometime.

Also, there only being two of us, and prizes for first and second, means I'm totally claiming the moral victory. By default.

I must have opened about 20 boosters since I started playing, and the only mythic I've pulled is Sheoldred, which is admittedly awesome. However, my friend has opened 8 mythics in 14 packs...

For the M12 release, my playgroup and I bought a booster box and did a draft, which was aweosme, and I ended up 7-0 with a Black/White flying/control deck, with 3 Gideon's Lawkeepers (which I kept getting passed for some reason and basically won me the draft) and Sorin's Vengeance as a finisher. Althoguh I am very pleased with this, the afformentioned friend got an Inferno Titan first pack, then in his 3 prize packs pulled TWO GIDEON FUCKING JURAS!

Then, he bought a booster in town on a whim the other day. Guess what he pulled.

ANOTHER GIDEON FUCKING JURA!

Oh well. I really shouldn't be unhappy about getting 7-0 at my first draft =3
I think this place is full of spies. I think they're onto me.

Maybe there should be a separate thread for DotP, if there are other people here who play it.

Went to a draft last Thursday and got passed three Tormented Souls and an Adaptive Automaton(!). Went 2-1 (6-4 in games) with it, which was pretty cool, because I'd never even won a game before, much less a match. It got me thinking about cheap unblockable aggro, and I built this, if people can see it:

http://mtgdeckbuilder.net/Decks/ViewDeck/163070

I'd like to tweak it by adding another Adaptive Automaton and maybe cutting out the Elixir (though having colorless resistance to mill is pretty nice) or one of the Lurking Crocodiles. I'm trying to settle on a tribe; might change the splash to blue and use Trespassing Souleaters instead. Switching out two Geth's Verdicts for two more Dismembers is in the works.

Thoughts? It's a bit light on creatures, but the broad scale of removal and the ease of buffing the unblockables seems to work well.

Adaptive Automaton isn't that great considering you have at most 4 cards of any given creature type. Your green mana isn't getting much use either even with the crocodiles.

I also have DotP and would talk about it. Just not sure we need yet another Magic thread at this point.

I think a DotP thread would be kinda different as I personally have never played MtG with paper and all this drafting stuff doesnt really apply. But then again theres no point in only 3 people will use it...

On actual playtesting, I did find myself mostly spending green on the crocs, but the remaining green doesn't really have the utility I'm looking for, which is why I'm thinking blue is a better splash. The AA was originally there for the Tormented Souls, but unfortunately, the Spirit subtype seems to be pretty rare in Standard to date (though I've heard there will be more in Innistrad, perhaps). I'm not married to it, but it definitely changes the pace of the game.

There aren't a whole lot of unblockable cards in Standard, and most of them are of different creature subtypes. Blue's probably my best bet, but then the choice comes down to a choice between whether I want to pay more for a non-infect Human (Neurok Invisimancer is 1UU), play with infect Humans (Blighted Agent is 1U), or continue with 4 of each creature type (Trespassing Souleater is 3 but I have to pay to make it unblockable).

If I'm going for a straight win, the Blighted Agents are probably the best choice, but that's not the flavor I was going for.

Tormented soul isn't really that hot in constructed but if you wanted to take advantage of it, play things like http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/ ... eid=213805 or http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/ ... eid=193585

Copper Carapace makes a lot of sense, actually, I'll do that. I'm going to miss Umbra cards come September :(

e: uploaded the current version, I went with the Invisimancers and revised my lands to 17B/7U. Thinking of replacing the two Ponders with Unsummon or some other removal.

I also have a green white aura deck as well mine looks something like this.

4 Kor Spiritdancer (backbone of the deck, opening hands containing it are infinitely better than those without)
2 Umbra Mystic(expand usefulness of cards)
1 Mesa Enchantress(cards, draw them)
2 Verudian Enchantress(draw engine)
2 Aura Gnarlid(doesn't actually need to be enchanted itself)
3 Gatherer of graces(needed more two drops that like auras)

2 Web Silk(becomes GG draw cards=to number of enchantresses)
2 Flickering ward(same as above, but is also a decent card)
4 Rancor(just plain busted)
2 Hyena Umbra(decent 1 drops)
2 Spider umbra(decent 1 drops)
2 Spirit Link(like life link but can stack on itself)
2 Armadillo Cloak(nuff Said)
4 Ancestral Mask(makes math annoying, but also takes care of games fast)
3 Pacifism(a little boring, but its removal)

4 Sunpetal Grove
8 plains
10 forest

Its pretty simple, this deck mostly just Battle Cruiser's up one guy with lots of auras and kills with big dudes and card advantage. Always go second, and mulligan to a hand with Spiritdancer. The math adding up power and toughness gets a little silly, but the deck is a lot of fun to play.

I have to say, there are quite a few one-offs and many of the creatures don't have all too much value, like Lumengrid Gargoyle. You definately need dual lands and cards with more value. I'll say more when I get on a computer

...What... the... hell?
The popular theory behind these cards is that they're double-sided, but they'd never do that... I mean, they considered it for Arabian Nights, and ultimately ditched it.

Tell that to the official magic twitter things.

Every double sided card comes with, in the same pack, a single sided checklist card.

It makes sense, in a way.

So during my stay in Seattle, I have bought two packs, and acquired three mythics.

Am I a wizard?

Also, since Kathleen asked, here's a link to my Commander decklist, which I think is mostly accurate probably.

If you've been following this at all: you'd know that there were two arts for a cursed Garruk, they have sad any permanent could transform, not just creatures, and that Garruk is to be the Hero to Liliana's villian.

Again.

And I approve. Those are my two favourite of the Planeswalkers.
