Some people dont rate the firstblades as high as I do I guess but getting three unflinching courage was insane.

I also got two madcap, three ethereal armor and passed a Holy mantel for a foil Angelic Skirmisher which was in my first 7 in game two Match one but I had to mull and I never saw her again.

One game was Riot Piker, into armor and Madcap 7/3 (he had one creature), into azorius arrestor plus armor on piker turn 4 he had two creatures but one was arrested 11/7 20-2 conceed.

in the finals game one I got, Riot Piker, into Warmind Infantry, into Firstblade and armor.

In Game 2 I got the riot piker turn two, my opponent played Frostburn Weird he said NOT THIS TIME! and turn three I three I played madcap and armor. He played second weird. turn four I played firstblade and put armor on it. He said FFFFFFFF YOU! and scooped.

I did Inspiration but sadly whiffed. Thankfully took down the match, but that particular game titled me something fierce.

Say, what are all the three color combanations called? I mean, I know all the conected ones are named after shards from Alara, and I think I've heard Green-Blue-Black called Bug, but what of the others? And come to think of it, do 4 colored decks have fancy names as well?

The 5 non-consecutive three-colour combinations are sometimes called "Wedges" (for the shape the triangle makes on the colour pie). They don't have "official" names like the guilds and shards do, but there's some commonly-used jargon names that float around.

BUG and RUG (for black-blue-green and red-blue-green, respectively) are the most prominent names, being just pronounceable as-is. BGW is sometimes referred to as "Junk" (originally the name of a deck archetype in those colours, has shifted to referring to the colours themselves)... but that's easily misunderstood by someone who doesn't recognise the term as just you saying the deck is bad, so it's not super-common. RWU I've occasionally heard as "American" (because Red, White and Blue), but usually tongue-in-cheek. BRW I don't think I've ever heard a real name for.

Other conventions I've heard are to name the wedges after the three-colour dragons from Planar Chaos, but players who weren't around them probably can't remember which is which. Sometimes a similar thing with other famous cards, like BGW being "Doran colours", but there aren't a whole lot of options there.

Maybe some future gold block will be based around the wedges and we can get actual names for the things... I wouldn't expect that for a while, though, since we just had a gold block for RTR.

There is also some people who use the names of the volvers/Disciple in Apocalypse for the wedges:
BUG = Ana
RUG = Ceta
WBR = Dega
WBG = Necra
WUR = Raka
There must always be a Stark in the Moonbase

BRW is sometimes Kaalia or Tariel, after the two premier commanders for those colours

The wedges do more flavorful names, they're just hard to remember and kind of obscure.

WBR is Dega
URG is Ceta
BGW is Necra
RWU is Raka
GUB is Ana.
They're named after the cycle of Disciples, Sanctuaries and Volvers from Apocalypse, but because of their obscurity, no one really remembers/knows about them. Also, they aren't well liked, I take it. Some like them, though.

I was watching a stream recently (I think Paul Cheon's) where he was doing a phantom MMA draft, and got passed both Tarmogoyf for P1P7 and Bob for P3P7... they must have been opened by the same person. If only we could have seen the look on that player's face...

This is the worst 11th aniversary sealed pool that has ever existed. I'm fucking struggling to make playables. Meanwhile my round 1 opponent slams Geist of Saint Traft on turn 3 -_-

FNM standard: 0-4-0 (2nd round bye)
FNM's a draft next week, so that'll be fun.

So I've got a Maze's end now; I'm now obligated to build the Maze deck.

I'll report back on how it turns out. (need more selesnya and dimir gates, though.)

(Double-post, ahoy!)
So, how many people are going to do the 11th anniversary sealed event on mtgo? It ends on tonight's scheduled maintenance.

It's an 11-booster phantom sealed pool; one of each fall set since mtgo started.
I'm in the queue for one right now that starts in about an hour.

I did one, went 1/3/0 due to my pool being absolute shit. With that many boosters from that many sets the variance in pool quality is HUGE.

mine was super goofy. I was able to completely change colors mid-match and still have a coherent deck. Still went 1-3-0, but had a lot of fun doing it. Also, went off with grapeshot in one game.

Also double post! Yeah First one I did was horrible but the next one I went 2-2 and I was sad. With both events I pulled Imperious Perfect out. With the second event I had lots a elves so I went Gruul Elves. It was ok, not the greatest event in the world but still ok.

BUNNY ATTACK!!!!

three picks into my Dragons Maze pack there was a crash in the laundry room.

I went to investigate and saw the dryer vent hanging donw, which is odd because, 1 the dryer wasnt running and 2 its pretty well secured.

then I saw it.

Image

So after musch effort and missing the rest of the pack and most of gatecrash I got it into a box. My first catch was to get it into a bucket, which it promptly hopped up in and knocked over and the chase was on again. I finally got it into a box, closed the lid, did my RTR pack, then took it outside.

I did one and it went fairly well, I went 3-1 with a Green/Black deck although the deck did probably over-perform a bit. I didn't know that many cards, but I did get a Deadbridge Goliath from RTR and some solid removal in black. None of my rares were insane bombs, but I managed a good curve, a bunch of efficient creatures, and the removal. With this result and the 4-0 I managed in the April Fool's event, I think I've found my best Magic format is "Crazy, Insane Sealed" :lol:
