Correct, the target is declared as the spell hits the stack, so the Illusion is destroyed before the spell resolves.

I'm not sure I understand your question about priority.
PS - This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Player 1 plays Lion's Eye Diamond
Player 2 no response
Player 1 no response
Lion's Eye Diamond resolves, comes into play
Player 2 wants to play a disenchant right now
Player 1 wants to play an Ill Gotten Gains

It used to be that Player 1 had priority so he got off ill gotten gains. He would then activate Lion's Eye Diamond to add the mana to his mana pool, which could be done as a response to a disenchant.

If player 2 gets the disenchant off first, he can't activate lion's eye because he has to dump his hand as a cost, and wants to play Ill Gotten Gains first.

I know that there were some fundamental changes after 2010, and I wasn't sure if "Current Player gets priority when nothing is on the stack" was changed.

Actually, there is a totally built in block in the Lord of the Unreal, who gives Illusions +1/+1 and Hexproof, which is neat

Yeah, duh.

But flashing out a lord of the unreal won't remove the triggered ability from the stack, and you don't have to worry about the triggered ability if you already have a Lord in play.

On another topic is it just me or does Jace, Memory Adept basically cause a six-turn total deck mill? how long until he gets banned again?

Never.

It's so easy to wipe him out in less than 6 turns if you use him for milling, and being milled is still a pretty weak win condition.

He comes into play on turn 5, and has 5 or less loyalty end of that turn. He will draw a LOT of aggro, so whilst I agree his 0 ability is a tad punchy I don't think he'll be banned. He needs some serious defenses if you aren't killing him. I mean, in the same set he is arriving in, there is a 1-mana sorcery that can destroy him before he even sees play.

Oh, and that would be turn 9 that he milled the last of a 60-card deck, give or take and assuming his 0 ability is used on turn 5. Even then, there are way faster ways to mill people by then.

I have, in fact, been milled on turn 6. Fucking legacy.

A draw deck with Jace's Erasures is a popular one in my circle. Plus Tome Scour, Cast Through Time, etc. etc.

it just seems a bit mad that you can go "this is jace. at no cost to myself of any sort i have just destroyed 15% of your deck. oh and i'll do it again next turn."

By turn 9-10? Not that great, really. Most games are getting absurd by then anyhow.

Forced Fruition is a slayer.

An absolute killer, legacy wise.

And you'd think filling your opponent's hand would be bad, but when I'M FORCED TO DISCARD TWENTY ONE CARDS AT THE END OF MY TURN, it doesn't matter.

Fucking forced fruition.

:D

I came up against a jace/garuk in the draft last night (Bastard has the luck of the gods, he also pulled a foil chandra from his boosters for making top 8...)
Jace hits the field alongside garruk "Ohshit prepare to be violated."
Milled 10 cards and another beast hits the field making the number of creatures we each have equal, but i have 2 driftin shades on the field and a bunch of swamps and plains.
Next card i drew, was DoJ. Threw one drifting shade at each that he couldn't block, leaving garruk on 1 counter, then threw out DoJ with the plains and wiped all his beasts.
Next turn played a blood seeker and a doomblade on the beast, managed to draw the white +2/+2 flying enchant and smacked garruk upside the head.

Basically what i'm saying here, is jace was protected by garruk, in a draft, against my 42 card deck, and couldn't do much more than be a major target.

no cost to yourself? he cost 5 mana 90% of the time your tapping out to play him, meaning I can do what ever I want at the end of your turn and during my turn. He doesnt effect to board state what so ever, hell I rather have jace 1.0 back

It sounds like I may have been the only one to go to a release party, but now I finally have M12! Nine pack's worth of it!

Of course, all the cool rares were in the packs I bought after the tournament. . . oh well. Still got a Bloodlord of Vaasgoth. And a Pentavus, which I just love because it's a Mirrodin reprint.

Bought my first fat pack.
Two best cards are...
MY FIRST PLANESWALKER. sorin which works well with my blue/black deck. I might just make it a black deck
Chandras phoenix which is great for my Red deck

AFTER all that. I'm gonna pick up one more fat pack. I REALLY want a booster box, but a bit pricey even for me.

Well, I went to my first draft the other day, as I really liked the look of them, and it was my store's last SOM block draft. I had a pretty good White/Black evasion deck going, then first-picked Tempered Steel in my last pack, and picked up as many artifact creatures as I could.

I lost the first match 2-0, but almost cam eback from 1 life until he Pearce Strider'd me for game. Then won second match 2-0 against the store manager, which I was pretty proud of. Then lost the last match 1-2. I could blame it on horrible mana-flood in the 3rd game, but to be honest I stupidly didn't mulligan a 1-land hand in the second game, so it's my fault.

Then my friend who I went with who had a passing interest came 3rd out of 16, then pulled 2 Mythics from his 2 prize packs...

And now I'm having a go at a Commander deck, as although nobody except 1 person in my playgroup has one, the local shop we've been visiting more and more recently has a huge Commander following. In a pack at the draft I bought afterwards I pulled Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer, and thought it looked like a cool Commander to base a deck around. Here it is. It's not amazing, but I like the theme.
I think this place is full of spies. I think they're onto me.
