My decks are all named after rock songs. No specific reason, just happened that way. Everything's Modern unless otherwise noted. Decklists are at tappedout.net

Rolling in the Deep (Pauper)
March of the Black Queen
Through the Fire and the Flames (standard)
Rockin' the Paradise
Mr. Roboto
One Vision (EDH, and under construction)

Hungry For Heaven
Eye of the Tiger
Back to Humans (Dark Acension pre-release deck)

I imagine osieorb18 is referring to the offer in the last Tap Tap Concede to name our decks. I'm willing to wager there will be a thread created prior to Febuary's epsidoe for us to submit in.

Hi,

First time posting on any of the LRR forums but having just watched tap, tap, concede episode 2 I thought this would be a fun opportunity to get my deck named.

The deck I'm playing at the moment is a very aggressive Red/Black Vampires deck with lots of removal in it. It was initially spawned form the "Carnival of Blood" Innistrad intro deck but has gained a bunch of stuff from other things in standard. I don't get many opportunities to trade or play a more competitive game on a regular basis so every in this deck was either pulled or traded for when I got the chance; I don't buy singles. The full deck list is as follows:

Creatures
2x Bloodcrazed Neonate
2x Crossway Vampire
2x Rakish Heir
3x Stromkirk Captain
2x Pyreheart Wolf
2x Necropolis Regent
2x Falkenrath Exterminator
2x Vampire Nighthawk
1x Bloodline Keeper
1x Markov Blademaster
1x Havengul Vampire (currently being tested, may replace)

Spells
4x Murder
3x Curse of Stalked Prey
2x Curse of Bloodletting
2x Vampiric Fury
2x Searing Spear
2x Auger Spree

Lands
1x Blood Crypt
1x Rakdos Guildgate
13x Swamps
11x Mountains

Would appreciate feedback if you're willing and looking forward to seeing whatever names are thought of.

I called my old standard deck (before RTR rolled in and M12 and SoM block rolled out) "Duckay's Increasingly Inaccurately Named Goblin Deck". It wasn't a very clever name. It had this name because I originally built it for a tribal tournament, but then as I refined it to make it more competitive in standard, it had fewer and fewer goblins in it. But of course, everyone I played Magic with still called it my 'goblin deck'.

But, here is a new deck I have built, trying to evoke much of the same things as the old one, but with a bit of a new theme to it. What should this be called?

Creatures:
4 Ash Zealot
3 Boros Reckoner
4 Foundry Street Denizen
3 Hellrider
4 Legion Loyalist
3 Rakdos Shred-Freak
3 Vexing Devil

Spells:
2 Bonfire of the Damned
2 Brimstone Volley
4 Dynacharge
4 Madcap Skills
4 Searing Spear

Lands:
20 Mountain

Thanks man, that's really good. Yeah the curses took a while to get but are so worth it. Sure they're not instant to go with the fast nature of the deck but they can win games, especially the Bloodlettings.

With Sheoldred and the very obvious kill and re-animate theme, it's hard not to make the comparison to Alex's "I ain't say she's a gravedigger..." deck from Friday nights.
The constant upheaval of grave residents however has me thinking of some sort of theme of death just being a trivial formality for the denizens of your deck. With that in mind how about "(un)death first, burial later", because really, who has time to waste about laying in the ground when the living are being so uppity and not doing your bidding?

Not quite pithy enough for a game opening. I do appreciate the effort, though. I ain't saying she's a gravedigger is my (in progress) name.

Re: MTG Deck Naming Thread

Cross posted from the TTC thread, here's a couple decks I'm trying to find good names for:

The first is this:

3 Cavern of Souls
3 Rootbound Crag
4 Temple Garden
3 Sunpetal Grove
2 Gavony Township
1 Stomping Ground
3 Clifftop Retreat
3 Forest

22 Lands

3 Silverblade Paladin
3 Somberwald Sage
3 Sigarda, Host of Herons
4 Huntmaster of the Fells // Ravager of the Fells
3 Aurelia, the Warleader
3 Wolfir Silverheart
3 Restoration Angel
2 Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
3 Angelic Skirmisher
4 Avacyn's Pilgrim
2 Angel of Serenity

33 Creatures

3 Domri Rade
2 Akroma's Memorial
5 Other Spells

Sideboard
2 Rest in Peace
4 Immerwolf
4 Mayor of Avabruck // Howlpack Alpha
4 Scorned Villager // Moonscarred Werewolf
1 Garruk Relentless // Garruk, the Veil-Cursed

Here's a more visual look. This is the same deck, but when I need to face more aggro decks. The main goal is to get out big creatures as fast as possible. Use Domri to get more creatures into hand or as removal, Akroma's to make my army next to invincible, and ramp creatures to bring out big stompy things. Most of the other creatures are just meant to punch things. Silverblade/Silverheart combo, Gisela to just destroy my opponent, Skrimisher to serve whatever role I need. The base for this was intended to be wolves and angels, but now it's wolves, humans, and angels.

When I need to face down red or R/B decks that can easily outrace me, I switch to the secondary mode. Switching out all the angels for wolves and werewolves to make the deck much faster in nature. I haven't been able to test this mode out yet.

That's my main deck. My secondary deck is this one:

4 Isolated Chapel
2 Forest
2 Plains
1 Swamp
2 Vault of the Archangel
4 Sunpetal Grove
2 Overgrown Tomb
1 Woodland Cemetery
4 Temple Garden
2 Cavern of Souls

24 Lands

3 Rhox Faithmender
4 Champion of Lambholt
3 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
3 Geist-Honored Monk
3 Angelic Skirmisher

16 Creatures

3 Parallel Lives
4 Lingering Souls
2 Ajani, Caller of the Pride
3 Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
2 Collective Blessing
2 Cathars' Crusade
4 Farseek

20 Other Spells

Sideboard
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Aerial Predation
3 Sundering Growth
4 Young Wolf

Visual Form Here. The deck is Token/Lifegain based entirely around the fact that I pulled an Ajani during a M13 prerelease. The win conditions are to either make my life total so high that my opponent can't really stop me from pulling big stuff, flood the board with tokens (hopefully with pump from Cathars' Crusade and Collective Blessing), or use tokens to make Champion of Lambholt giant.

Hmm... for some reason, I like that name, but I don't. It sounds good, but there's something a bit... off about it. I think it might be that it makes the angels out to be the big focus of the deck, when the secondary 'mode' is meant to get rid of most of the angels anyways. It does, however, sound like a good name. I just don't think it fits the deck as it stands. Thanks though.

Huh, that's true. I guess I haven't considered it like that since this is a pretty recent revision. I dunno though, there's just something that feels off about that name for that deck. Not sure what it is exactly in all honesty. Maybe it just feels a bit too... elegant for the deck, if that makes sense. Could be I just don't like naming a deck after Naya since I wasn't around for shards.

I'll think on it a bit more, because I do like the name. Maybe my brain is just derpin out on me. It IS three-thirty in the morning.

for the Second deck how about "It's a Horde knock life" ? you're gaining ridiculous amounts of guys for your horde of creatures and they all add to your life totals.

the other deck I'm a little unsure on. I've been thinking along the lines of "foul beast of wing and claw" but I'm not sure now to nail it down.
