Damn those awesome videos! Grrr! *Shakes fist*
I have just been playing around with the New Player stuff via Magic Online, but I am liking it so far, $10 well spent as far as I am concerned.
But yeah, wow, the game is quite a bit different than the one I remember. Then again, that was way back in late 5th and 6th editions when I was just a kid. Good times though. I think I am going to try and recreate my beloved Rat deck.
Cheers!

Rats are a nice deck.

Yeah a lot of rules have changed since then, luckily all for the better.
Good for you being back in it. Magic is one of the best games ever made. It eats money, which isn't great but at least it's better for you than smoking, right?

I shed a tear. I only just found LR (through LRR no less), but I went back and listened to a ton of their Innistrad block shows and I am super sad that Loucks is leaving the show.
Of course the flip side is that he's going to Wizards, and that is just Plane awesome.

Its super fun you should join and play! its not that expensive if you budget yourself. In fact for international players it probably cheaper since a ticket costs 1 US dollar and a pack costs 2.5-4 tickets depending on where you get them from.
You dont even have to deal with Wizards if you dont want, there can be some weird taxes on product purchased directly from them. You can buy your product and tickets directly from a bot, http://www.mtgoacademy.com/ has a good selection, average prices and infinite tickets.
Just remember, Make a budget and stick to it.
Buy your packs from a bot they are always cheaper.
DONT OPEN PACKS, unless you are in a draft or event.
HAVE FUN!
