Commander was the first format, other than standard, that I was introduced to and it has created some of the greatest memories and moments in my social circle. Grave betrayal giving me control of a Yeva, Isperia, Trostani and Niv-Mizzet in one turn when combined with some nasty black removal. Got all four of them in one hit, as black zombies with +1/+1 counters. two of the players conceded outright (the game had been going on for five hours at this point and I have a horrible Mono-Black EDH with monster amounts of removal and the grave betrayal so I had about 30 creatures of various stats and colours).

And then I have my Other EDH deck with Griselbrand as commander, only to be used against my friends Avacy EDH deck, Flavour-Flav Showdown!

Anyway just wanted to say it was you guys (Friday Nights - In Command) that peaked my interest in it and i wish to thank you all.

Man, nobody I play with ever seems to buy into this whole "Commander as a casual format" thing. It's always these ridiculous Tooth/Nail win, Rafiq auras win, mindslaver infinite control your turn win decks.

I'm really starting to feel like a chump for having taken the time and money to build this funny Fungus deck.

This makes me sad.

I'm so glad the commander scene at my LGS is more "for the lulz" than super-competitive. I need to build a commander deck.

I want to make "Richard Garfield, Ph.D." My commander then have a list of the most powerful cards in the game to the side.

it doesnt matter what crap you have in your deck because a Merfolk of the pearl trident is a thought sieze, your lands are any land you want, or a mox, or Black lotus or Lion's Eye Diamond...

Oh I can only do it once? OK, this is a counter spell, this is a False Summoning, this is a essence scatter, this is a negate or a Mana Leak...

The Commander 2013 spoilers so far are delicious. Plenty of multiplayer mayhem... "I curse you so that anyone who attacks you gets to red-loot!"
"Any creature who attacks not-me gets +2/+0."

I'm really excited. Looks awesome, though I'm not sure which deck I want yet.

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm planning to get the Jund and Grixis decks. I particularly like the alternate Grixis commander, he has a lot of potential for a ridiculous deck.

I really want to get one of each, just because they'll likely become expensive before long.

I think it's nice that we're getting Doubling Season But Not. And Bane of Progress seems... really good.

Roughly $200 USD for the lot. I definitely want to get into Commander somewhere down the line and these could really help with that.

This. I am kicking myself that I didn't buy of the initial commander products before they went scarce and pricy.

Bleh... maybe I'll talk my folks into picking me up the set for the holidays. Or if I can get a job by then... but that's a LOT of money to put down on Magic cards. Hmmmm... maybe I'll try to see if I can get them with my FtV:20.

$200? They're MSRP is $30, so it shouldn't be more than $150. The store I order from sells a set of all five for $145. And that's Canadian dollars, too.

I would definitely recommend them, too. I passed up on the first set, then regretted it and ended up paying a not insignificant markup for the Mirror Mastery deck. The first bunch was a lot of fun, and these ones are shaping up to be good too.

I'm totally gonna pick up the Mind Seize deck, I think. I mean, I don't know what's in it, yet, but Jeleva looks siiiiiick, and the deck is called "Mind Seize," which can't be bad.

Damn you marked up prices on sites!

Well I was planning on giving my business to my LGS anyway. Looks like I know where I'm going for lunch that day.

Full decks are spoiler. I'm so happy with the Jund and Grixis ones. I'm a bit sad that the Jund one has Kher Keep, but none of the other kobold cards. Still, all five look like a lot of fun.

Edit: Oh wow, just saw the new art for Goblin Sharpshooter. I already love this card, and now it looks drastically better:

Any opinions on the best deck, power wise? I'm kinda disappointed in the Naya deck. The Esper one seems like it might be decent though.

A lot of people seem to like the Bant one, but I personally think the Esper and Grixis look like the most powerful. What I'm curious to see is if this'll have cards that sell for as much as the decks, like with scavenging ooze last time. The P3K cards are expensive, particularly Hua Tuo, but I doubt the reprints will be worth nearly as much.

I don't have a group to play Commander with, else I would've built a deck eons ago. Probably shouldn't bother with this.

Having shed fat, I like saying BANT, so I recommend that one.

I wanna say yes, but... I don't play much commander, and I'm not sure how much of the decks I'd actually play. I might keep them for investments. But... even that isn't that a great deal. I've just been burned before (bought all the planechase, never used them).

I've always wanted to play Commander - the closest I got to it was playing a 100-card Mana Mastery deck in DotP 2013 - but I've always been more of a casual "silly" player than anyone serious. I don't Limited, I'm not Standard, and one of my personal favorite formats is Rainbow Stairwell.

So, given all of this, would an all-artifact EDH be viable?

Depends on who you're playing against and how serious they are if you'll win or not, but it's certainly doable. Though if you want to go pure colourless, your only option for a commander is Karn, which also means you need to get lands the only produce colourless, which could be expensive (because you can't have duplicates). If you run a Bosh or Memnarch deck, however, you can certainly make something quite playable.
