The Journey Into Nyx Happy Fun Spoiler Time Thread!
Re: The Journey Into Nyx Happy Fun Spoiler Time Thread!
As a tremendous UG Timmy I really want that to be true, my only concern is that a lot of the "lynchpin" cards that make UG truly insane are at rare and uncommon. There are good blue commons and good green commons, to be sure, but you need to pick up a couple of really specific higher-rarity cards to get the most out of that deck. That's less true of the heroic decks, which you can essentially build full pauper versions of and still go 3-0.
When the upkeep takes longer than the main phase, I know I've done my job well.

Honestly, green looks to be very powerful in terms of commons. Like, there are no real commons in Green for Journey that I'd be too sad to put in my pool. Blue is less so, but it still has quite a few strong commons too (like the strive thing that gives flying).

I'm a little sad they passed on the chance to have a card something like "Iron Sights, 0 colourless, target creature."

After tonight's tourney, I think the big hitters'll be Heroes' Bane - it seems really quick for what it does - and definitely Oppressive Rays. It's almost more annoying that a straight Pacifism.
