The nice thing about Adam streaming is that it's something to watch on the side during the fandraft.

Mine's BarcodeReader321, but fate seems to conspire to make Fan Drafting extremely rare for me. When I'm not doing mostly-weekly D&D, any variety of random things pop up to make getting to that 8pm Central time window nearly impossible. One of these days, though.

If I get to it, which I think I shall, I'm going to stream it.

Here is the deck that went 3-0 in pod 2. Only 5 LRR fans in that, but it was still a good time.

I got to go through the moderator trio of CantWearHats, AdmiralMemo, and Lord_Hosk. Unfortunately, the finals against Hosk was unexciting, as he cast 2 spells combined in the two games(Selfless Cathar in each) and I curved out really well in each game.

Had a really close game 2 against Memo, as I somehow beat an Ensoul'd Darksteel Citadel while at 1. That look a lot of (I felt) tight play.

Decent enough match against CantWearHats, I guess. I'm not sure whether his deck wasn't quite doing what he expected or whether I just had enough answers though.

In any case, it was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed it as always.

Can't be bothered to upload an image of the deck. The deck doesn't deserve it. It betrayed me.

http://i.imgur.com/70Vfl4I.png?1 Retroactive deck name: Needs More Pillar of Light
R1 opponenet went off with Undergrowth scavenger: never resolved it for less than a 9/9.
R2 notomtolose resolved Soul of Theros. I can't ever beat that. Then mull to three game 2.
R3 I went off while arakasi had mana troubles.
I think I did the best I could during the matches, but maybe I didn't draft as well as I could have. Still, P2P1 Trip Spirits, P2P2 Spirit Bonds: yes please.
In this moment, I'm not a huge fan of whatthebus.

Went 1-2 this week the games I lost I lost to mana flood and a misclick (except for game one of round 3 where my opponent just stomped face), though going in I thought my deck was bad, so maybe it was just bad and I only think it was the flood and misclick that made those games losses.

This deck just lost in the finals of pod 1.
Highlights include having a Brood Keeper with 2 x Hammerhand and an Inferno Fist on it on turn 5 and using my sideboard Endless Obedience to buyback my own Krenko's enforcer, and killing my opponent from 7 with it. Savage misplay in round three though, can be seen on the replay Maddrius posts. (Dragon pump + inferno fist would have killed the sable)
Lots of fun, and happy with my first fan draft :)

Good draft luck this week! My Soul, the Pridemate combo and some mana screw rendered rounds two and three kind of one-sided in my favour.

Unfortunately the draws were not so kind in round one and Omnicrat basically went off with my own strategies against me. I definitely fed into the problem with a few misplays, too. Still, the games were at least long enough to be interesting and interactive, so they ended up being the most fun of the night apart from the draft portion.

Here's what I was working with. I really wanted to play the Crucible of Fire (and the other one I didn't get), but decided against it. Probably would have if I had a couple of Brood Keepers.

So, managed to go 3-0. But holy crap, I had to get through three close, really great games to get there! Down to the wire for all of them.

Once more, I felt I drafted awkwardly, but managed to pull together a frog and ensoul deck which got there if I drew well. But soooo few creatures if things didn't come together ...

I did better than I thought I would have but still the last round stung.

Image

Round three was terrible.
game one three plains selfless Cathar, two triplicate spirits, and the frost lynx. I cast the cathar, then three turns later he killed it with the ping devil.

Game two I kept two plains a island selfless Cathar, quickling, pathmage and triplicate spirit. I cast cathar, passed the turn he killed it with the devil and that was it. I never drew my 4th land and never drew a low spell.

I 2-0ed a fan new player phantom after the main fan draft with Dix, Korvys, and Maddrius. The 4 player swiss is a differant beast that is not easy to adapt to, but being in the most open color (red) and starting with the red soul helps a bit :P

So, random idea: we do 4-booster sealed one of these days instead of draft. It can get a bit goofy.

Eh, from my limited experience I find sealed to be not as much fun as draft. 4 booster might be different, but its still limited.

note: pun not intended but noticed before posting.

We have to decide if we want to keep using the (unofficial) chat I created for talking during the fan draft or if we want to move to http://www.twitch.tv/lrr_fan_draft.

Pros of moving
-LRRbot can link to it on request
-does not require an invitation

Cons of moving
-Requires people be in a dead stream

If anyone can thing of other pros/cons, please say them, but I think moving the fan draft chat to the blank channel is the best option.

Alternatively, could it be possible to make lrrbot an admin of the chat, so the bot can invite people in?

I haven't played with these chat rooms at all yet, but I presume it must be possible...

Anyone with an invite can invite people, so all I would have to do is invite LRRbot. The question at that point becomes; could LRRbot be programed to invite people to the LRR_Fan_Draft private chat?
