Loading Ready Fan Draft.
Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
I went 2-2 in the fan-prerelease with this SWEET deck. Super fun to play.
Lost to a Mardu sacrifice deck with THREE Act of Treason and TWO Butcher of the Horde in round 1. Lost to Abzan outlast in round 3, but it was a great match. Nearly was able to finish it, but he was just able to stabilize.

My deck, went 2-2. Not bad. Shame I never got to cast the Lich Lord or the Abomination though.
The cards from that pool alone sold for 7 tickets.

Here's my "deck" & pool from the prerelease, that played against Graham in James in Round 1,
its /technically/ a deck, but only by the loosest possible definition.
went 1-3 ( Woo round 4 Bye! )

1-1 then had a game of magic against Phlip round three that was too awesome for MTGO to handle. At least that's what I assume happened before it crashed and burned. Kind of a bummer. :(
Anyway, I *may* have gotten a bit greedy.

3-1, only lost to Korvys' nutty sultai deck. I now hate the card Become Immense forever. Some solid games, though!

If you swing by there you'll see I played a bunch this weekend, and I might play a bit more yet this week.

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
HOSK, or anyone, my 22nd and 23rd cards in this deck were the Canyon Lurkers and Krumar Bond-Kin. I had another of each but I just couldn't decide which to play, or if I should just play something else. Obviously I was trying to run pretty aggressive, and a little creature-light for that, but I'm still not sure if playing them was correct. They were always really awkward; spending 7 or 8 on a creature, even over multiple turns, is a tight squeeze in an aggro strategy. What do you think?
Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
So, I took the Sultai challenge, and wound up 1-3 ...
Over all I liked the deck I was able to build from my pool, and I was able to turn four my Necropolis Fiend several times. Unfortunately, it never managed to stay on the board for very long ...
Deck:
Sideboard/pool:
Replays:
Deck Building
Round One (vs. Bainard)
Round Two (vs. Lord_Hosk)
Round Three (vs. Morgawr)
Round Four (vs. Metalupis)
Lord_Hosk: That was a killer deck. Anafenza did work! I fear whatever deck managed to give you the one loss ...
Thanks again to my opponents for the games!

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
Well, anyone who saw the stream saw how this went:
To be honest, I thought this was going to go badly. I initially had less delve cards, and less enablers, but since this was the fan draft, and LRR were playing, I decided it would be more fun to go all in. I like playing combo, so this was right up my alley. A had a 10/10 a couple of times from the Rakshasa Vizier and delve, which was fun. Also, I really underrated Sultai Flayer previously. 3/4 is a perfect size. Lots of morphs mean 2/3s are really good, but 3/4 beats that, and 4 mana means it's usually on time. 4 life is nothing to sneeze at either.

You did great in my match after game two I was sure I was done for.
Honestly I think your abzand was stronger you blue was rather weak. Abomination of Gudul is good but I think armament cores are better, Aven is good but the bounce is not great in a format that typically goes so long. "Oh no my guy, I will replay him next turn" Kill shot, Suspension field, and smite the monstrous are all really good spells. Also I think I would have run Swarm of Bloodflies.
You kinda got hosed that your rares were as spread out as they were, you had two great Abzan, your red was weak but your temur was really good, Avalanche Tusker Bear's Companion, Surrak and Snowhorn Rider.
Your fixing was great. I ran too much I kept pulling out some of it out.
Your pool was 3 moderately good decks tough calls.

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
I went 3-1! Honestly better than I was expecting, since as I've said before, I don't play very often. Also I was in the second pod but I don't think I played against any LRR fans (or none who I recognized), though I saw several of you in there.
I picked Abzan and think I got a decent deck out of it, though I don't think I built it as well as I could.
Deck:
Sideboard:
I figured out quickly that I probably didn't need the burn spells, so I sided out red and brought in Icy Blast every match. (Only got to use that once, and for x=1, but it was enough to keep me alive and win the game in the next few turns.) I also realized this kind of deck might want more creatures, so I generally brought in a couple more. I had a lot of fixing, but since they all tap when they come into play it seemed bad to run too many. I only had mana troubles in a couple games, so I think I did well.
I wanted to throw Surrak in, but splashing 2 colours seemed bad. Maybe with enough fixing it would've been okay? But man Ivorytusk is amazing with just one or two outlast creatures on the board, that thing did work.
So basically, whee learning experience! Found out some things that didn't work and tried to do them better. My first match was against another Abzan deck and went quite badly, but I had a lot more fun from there.

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
Because MTGO decided it hates me last night, is anyone willing to run a prerelease with me today?
I have the same glitch as yesterday, so I would need to be told when the que is empty, and you would basically need to fire on seeing Omnicrat for it to work for me. Which I would appreciate greatly, even if only one or two people do it with me.
If no one responds in hear or is in the http://www.twitch.tv/lrr_fan_draft chat by 5 pm, I'm just going to prerelase by myself.

Thanks memo. If we only get enough for a draft (or, rather, if we get enough for a full (or nearly full) draft pod by 5 we could do that instead.
I know elemental alchemist was interested in one today, but not when he'll be available, do you have him as a buddy on mtgo or know his mtgo name?
edit: my draft is also not bugged today, so I can see when a draft que is empty but not when a prerelase que is empty.

@Sarah: Congrats on 3-1! Glad you had a good turnout for the match!
@Lord Hosk: Thanks! I definitely enjoyed our match best out of the night. Lots of interaction in game one, and got to live the dream game two. Even with the time pressure, I think game three could have gone either way ... at least right up until you smited my Fiend and pushed ahead in board position. I don't mind loosing games that way.
I did struggle with deck building. I definitely agree that my Abzan was probably stronger. The double armament corps and the white removal would have been strong (plus I had some fixing for Abzan), but I've played Abzan literally every time I've had a chance to run Khans so far, and wanted to run something different I suppose. If I had ANY fixing for Temur I would have run that, even with the weak-ish red pool.
I did waffle on the bloodflies, and maybe should have run them as well. And in retrospect I definitely should have run the vizier. I had a lot of trouble with 4+ toughness creatures.
But I can't complain too much. My Necropolis Fiend showed up in most of my games. And Taigam's Scheming is a solid card. The draw fixing/knowledge gain felt worth it alone, the delve seeding was just gravy.
Hopefully a better showing in the future, but it was a fun time regardless! Can't say that too often of a 1-3 finish :- )
