If it helps, I've been trying to keep track of the League leaderboard here at home.

While unofficial, here's the history so far, as best as I can tell:

(Wasn't quite sure how to count the two weeks Sacred_Rhino missed, among other things).

Dix [dixonij] 0 | 2 leebenningfield [leebenningfield]

What a shitty ass two games of Magic. Lee was cool (of course), but MTGO decided to be a total ass to me.

Game 1
Keep 3 guy, 4 land hand (so I can relatively curve out) and on the play proceed to draw 9 straight land and lose.

Game 2
Keep 5 guy, 2 land hand on play and draw a land T2 so I can curve into my morph T3... then I draw NO white sources to play the other 4 white cards I end up in hand with by T10 and lose.

Basically two totally un-interactive games that felt totally womp-ish on my side of things.

GL next week Lee :D

Gelgarin 2 : 0 AdmiralMemo

Some good, interactive games that sadly came to an end with Mob Rule for all your creatures, just like the majority of my successes. I feel like the guy running a Prison deck in cube - slowing draining the fun out of the world one threaten effect at a time.

Well, our decks seemed pretty evenly-matched and those were some fun games. It just came down to the randomness, and you got the topdecks before I got my removal out. :)

Possible answers available in the format:

Not guaranteed:

So, essentially, you need rares to counter the rare.

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League

Postby Lord Hosk » 21 Mar 2015, 15:47

Several people have contacted me about pools that seem "too good to be true"

after that I spent a lot of time investigating the four pools in question, there are three pools which are highly unlikely, one just seems like a lucky pool.

One pool has a set of uncommons that are lets say are surprisingly strong but not impossible.

Two pools contain runs of commons that are only possible if their foils fell in exactly the right place.

Image

A foil is inserted by removing a common from the pack and replacing it at the end of the packing process, in paper this is done by removing the last common and then adding a foil at the end on MTGO a random Common is removed and a foil is inserted.

So in paper to have Card M you would have to have a run of K L M N, where N could be cut off, so if you had M O P Q In a pack you can say "thats fake, because M could be the start of the run but O cant be in a pack with M unless an N is also there.

However on MTGO any card can be pulled so a M O P Q pack is possible with N being randomly selected for removal.

One of the pools the card removed to replace with a foil would have to fall in the right spot 3 times, the chances of which are astronomically small, but still within the realm of possibilities.

In the end I couldn't find conclusive proof from the print runs that anyone has altered their pool, but there are several that are HIGHLY suspect.

With that in mind and the end of the season/extra packs coming I want to start a discussion about how to handle the add a packs. Several people have suggested that we each just add two packs of Dragons which is fine with me.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to handle it to avoid further question? Should we just do it the same way with cracking packs and posting images?

Im not sure how else to handle it.
